  1. I like to switch, but my preference is to lead with the right (I'm right-handed).
  2. Note* It's been a while since I've been to Europe.. those were just my observations.
  3. I can't stand it when people make the same generaliziation with America Take a roadtrip from Texas to New York, and you'll notice the same thing vice versa. "Americans this... Americans that..." I've lived in both the US and part of Europe (mostly Europe) and I'd say, Shaolin Kung Fu is probably the most popular in Europe (as a whole) and Wing Chun is most popular in the US (also, as a whole). But, man, Tae Kwon Do is a phenomenon everywhere!
  4. I'll see on Monday. I wasn't there when this happened, my friend just told me about it, so I'm not sure whether it's an empty threat or not... but it's probably better to treat it as if it were not. I'll ask my friend tomorrow at school, first thing in the morning, and see what he thinks. He did seem a little scared because he was clinging to me the whole day saying, "stay close, dude, I need a body guard incase they're gonna beat the **** out of me." ...I suppose I didn't really take it seriously, I should have. Who should I go and see about it? Principal? My PE teacher won't do anything about it, that's the one thing I'm sure of. And what if they deny it? I'm really not sure how my school handels threats, all I know is that if there is an act, then the 0 tolerance policy kicks in.. but I'm really not sure about verbal threats, because I hear kids yelling at each other "I'ma ***** kill you!" "you're dead!" blah blah, in the halls, but the teachers don't seem to care.
  5. Well, usually it's because they can't find someone that can do both, acting and martial arts. So, they pick the actors, because in TV shows like Buffy the acting is more important. Now, in my opinion, I think the actress who plays Buffy is awful.. and Keanu isn't any more dynamic than a cardboard box. But, I don't know, I enjoyed The Matrix (atleast the first and second one) nonetheless.
  6. Oh, I think I had the wrong image of how it worked... I thought you took their arm so that it's facing palm-up, place their elbow in your shoulder and threw them over your shoulder infront of you (assuming they were behind you), onto the ground. Okay, I really have no idea how I figured that. Is there a technique like that?
  7. Whoa.. my question is, how do you practice it on a partner without breaking their arm?
  8. I used to design my own kata before I ever did a martial art (yeah, needless to say, they sucked)... but since I've started one, that completely escaped my mind!
  9. I haven't tried any of their products; but I hear they're pretty awful, especially the Ab Wheel.
  10. I think I just might, yesterday one of them came up to my friend and, after a little argument, threatened to 'stick him'.
  11. Lennox, he's a very, very good boxer, modest and articulate.
  12. ..that would be very benifical to society.
  13. In a boxing match, definitely.. but in real fights, they always end up grabbing ahold of each other, trying to get the other to the ground, putting the other into some kind of lock, etc. I've never seen anyone get punched out.
  14. I had major growth spurts when I was younger. But now I'm 16, 6'1" and 180 lbs and I don't seem to be growing anymore :/
  15. lol..
  16. I sincerely hope that martial arts does NOT become so popular. Next thing you know it's going to be a clique, "goths, punks, skaters and martial artists".
  17. Yeap, that's Mas Oyama, an amazing martial artist.
  18. Aaahh, Michael Schumi It's been 4 years since I've heard that name... and that was since I moved to America (from Switzerland), so I'm not surprised that nobody from the US has heard of him.
  19. jackpot!
  20. Why is the word "l.e.s.b.i.a.n" censored? It's not a curse word or derogatory term...
  21. ...He did ask first. I would have done the same, do you honestly think if he would have said "no" they would have left him alone? No, probably not. So yes, good use of a pre-emptive strike... also, you were outnumbered by two. I'd rather ask questions later and have him be on the ground rather than asking the questions after I'm on the ground.
  22. "What's that black stick thingy used for?" To a male officer: "I think you have the wrong house, the bachelorette party is over at Jennifer's.." To a female officer: "Oh baby, I see you like to play rough." "I have a black belt!"
  23. lol, that's awesome. cool!
