  1. didnt see it yet but only heard good from it.
  2. Colony sucked - didnt see knock off. there was this film with van damme i really like - alas i forgot the title
  3. Bruce Lee is my favourit but jackie chan is more fun
  4. anyway it probably'd be a fierce fight...!
  5. and btw: i posted in the weapons forum and was told that almost everything could be used as a weapon. so the grocery store mentioned earlier could as well have been robbed by a well trained umbrella fighter. so it'll be best to forbid the use of an umbrella in public
  6. do i get this right? it is not allowed to carry nunchaku but its perfectly ok to carry katana/bo staff or whatever?
  7. cant wait till its finally released HERE
  8. i am 17
  9. yes indeed
  10. both SF and MK are fun to play. but i played street fighter more often! looking forward to the new MK though because it really seems to rock!!
  11. i had fun watching the film. was not as good as the first one though - a bit too much jabber about this destination and prophecy stuff, but fights and effects rule!
  12. u sure about that? http://judoinfo.com/images/cartoons/cartoon45.gif
  13. interesting read @ nathanjusko - didnt know about that. could u be a little more specific about this pros and conts? thats what the thread is about in my opinion there is a lack of self defense, meditation, improving ones mind and stuff in wtf. but it certainly all depends on dojang and instructor.
  14. and what exactly is the sense behind such "flashkick"? btw: very cool link @ karatekid
  15. thanks for returning to the topic any training is better than no training, whether it is prankration, Muay Thai or whatever "traditional" art.
  16. yes indeed - it might even be REALLY difficult. but as i already said; the cop is better suited for it than e.g. a martial artist like us.
  17. maybe u all could add ur style while responding pls?
  18. my dojang is ITF and i like it better. guess i do not consider WTF as "real" taekwondo for what reason ever... since i am a real noob do not take my opinion too serious for me meditation, self defense and everything belongs to TKD and "just" doing sports is not what makes an ART out of the martial. but thats only how i look at things!
  19. i opened this thread somewhere discussing the real fight situations as well... made my point clear there. as for the cops: it might be difficult for a single cop to handle a gang of thugs carrying chains/baseball bats/knives etc all by him self. and probably no pankration/BJJ/MT or whatever could. a cop is suited for this situation because he has got a radio to call for reinforcement and he carries a gun and a stick (at least most cops do). so he can probably handle different situations more easy. as for the ring: u already visited my post about this @ kirves and know my point that any training in whatever style prepares u better than no training at all!
  20. i was about to start a new stretching thread good thing u listed them up here - thanks!
  21. i chose tkd for me but 1. capoeira caught my interested because there is few styles like it 2. savate because i dont know exactly why and 3. hapkido because it combines many different aspects.
  22. a lot smarter than this style bashing... this was not planned to be one more "what is the best self-defense martial art" or something because there r already too many of them... before i start writing long essays on my point again i better close the forum, because i made myself clear enough on the first page of this thread...!
  23. i guess that is not the main reason for there are other training methods that will train u at these skills more effective...! good point at karate_woman...! but u often dont have any garden tools at hand which brings me back to the question whether u always carry something with u that can be used as a weapon (or the weapon itself). i guess a good kick/punch/grappling technique is more effectiv than an umbrella-strike-attack that an old grannys perform. sry, just kidding, but i think u got my point.
  24. glad to hear about it good point! i do get u right that u carry these with u to use them for self defense?
