  4. in the ring most likely, but in the street i dont know, tae kwon contains many hand and arm techniques, such as elbows and knife hand strikes that could easily end a fight.
  5. its quite a normal misconception to believe that a martial artist needs to be a black belt to be good, so i dont think it was a joke
  6. Vangelis is also pretty kool, although not the kind of music youd work out to
  7. Savate contains allot more boxing techniques, and is more or less similiar to kickboxing, cept with allot more kicking
  8. juno Reactor kicks *
  9. Under a real fight situation, allot of your training will go out of the window, and your basically left with about 4 or 5 moves the your gonna use effectivley
  10. if you study judo what would that be under?
  11. with point sparring its pretty safe, but with continuous it gets a bit rougher
  12. I had to do this about 2 months ago, i wasnt best happy about it. We both agreed wed go light on each other, but as soon as we started fighting, it turned in to a right scrap. Both ended up with bloody noses and blood on out dobuks. i ended up losing, but man that was fun. People were shocked how we ended up shaking hands n havin a laff about it after. fightin another club member is surely somethin id do again, i guess when your against someone from your own club you feel like you've got somethin to prove.
  13. its always great to see a big smile on a little kids face after they have achieved something
  14. hmmmm interesting, i havnt seen a division for 1 step sparring before, id like to see that. As for the breaking, usually there are set techniques that they will want you to peform on the day, best to check as soon as you get there what techniques they are. The points are usually scored by who can break the most boards.
  15. how do these 2 styles compare to each other? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both?
  16. just really bad footburns ouchie
  17. Some would say that judo is easier to adapt to self defence becasue of its full contact sparring, something that JJJ isnt known for
  18. I hate sparring partners who will hit you hard, but as soon as you do it back, theyll give a lecture on the rules of contact and how you shouldnt be so aggressive
  19. was funny though, my instructor was shocked that i came back. Apparentely after 1 lesson of judo people realise its a bit too rough for them
  20. if u wanna try something new, have a go with something like BJJ or Judo. i started judo and found it completely different than anything ive ever done in tae kwon do. So maybe try some grappling, it cant hurt
