  1. I don't have a cell phone either or a phone actually (besides the one family one). And I have a computer that doesn't work very well so I am on the laptop, which works a lot better. My parents are going to buy a new computer soon though. Maybe one day though.
  2. Hey! Lets keep getting those articles in. Even if we end up using this feature in some other way, we'll still use the articles and this contest is official!
  3. Ok, guys... we are over half way through. If you haven't voted, better get them in. By the way: Congratulations to all of our nominees. Being a nominee is an honor in itself and one worthy of commendation.
  4. I just wanted to make it clear to those people that nominated, that it doesn't count as a vote and that you now must go vote. The nomination process was to decide who would be on the ballot, and now it is time to vote. I also hope that all of you US based citizens are out there and taking advantage of your right to vote on election day. Thanks.
  5. Nominations are closed now. Voting ballots will be posted soon. Thank you to those who participated.
  6. I like lots of foods. Seafoods. Steamed shrimp, clams, muscles... crab legs, lobster, all that stuff. I like Pizza, salad with blue cheese dressing, ceasar salad... The favorite color part is much easier. Green.
  7. Forever was just an expression.
  8. I am against it being legalized. Some people like to say that "Hey, alcohol is legalized, why shouldn't my marijuana be?" That has to be the DUMBEST argument. Just because we have one intoxicant that is legal and has been forever, doesn't mean we need another! Bill O'Reilly said that he would legalize it, and would govern it very toughly. He said that he doesn't care what you do in your house, you can get high as much as you want. But, the moment that you step out in a public place (in a car, etc.), and they catch you, big fine. That would be a good way if it was indeed, legalized. (And tax it. Use the money). But, I don't want it legalized.
  9. The one at the top of the forums? Red button? That isn't a link right now. You need to go to the article forum and then reread the article posting guidelines when you get a chance. Thanks for writing.
  10. I have 2 things to say. 1. Please do not tell us not to move something. We will move it to the forum that we feel it best fits. 2. This topic has been discussed to death, so I am going to close this one. Thanks for posting.
  11. I was hoping for the Giants, oh well.
  12. I am proud to announce the KarateForums.com Article Writing Contest, which will help to jump start the database of articles for our soon to launch Articles section. Basically, we will be giving away one official KarateForums.com logoed mousepad to the winner. I know that this may not mean much to some of you, but it is a neat prize none the less. Here is what you will be judged on: - Quality of your articles - Number of articles - Originality (are we the first site to have it?) And the person who ranks the best in all three in my opinion and will the prize. Any user can win. No matter where you are on the globe - if you win, you win the prize. The only people that are excluded are me and the Senseis (Deby, Jack and Sai). Please review these threads: http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4831 http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4876 This contest will be for all articles submitted to the database before December 1, 2002. So, get out there and start writing and when you are done with a column, submit it in the Articles forum. Please be sure to read the links that I gave above.

  14. 1,000 members! This is a very important and great milestone for the community. Suprising, I don't have much else to say. I would like to thank the many users that have made positive contributions to the KarateForums.com Community.
  15. There are many different articles that people can write for KarateForums.com. - Editorials - these articles are usually expressing the opinion of the author on a subject. - MA News - these articles are supposed to convey a Martial Art event, sticking to facts mostly. - Interviews - this would be an interview of someone of prominence in the Martial Arts community. Questions could be fielded from the KarateForums.com users. - Tips/Tricks - explanations of various MA tips/tricks and how to execute them. - MA Media Reviews - book reviews, movie reviews, DVD reviews of MA related items. - Other types of MA related content. Just thought I would pass it along.
  16. The response has been decent. Every keep nominating though. The more the merrier. Thanks.
  17. Actually, no. There are not chat times, we have decided against it. Arys, We've tried setting a chat time every week and it just doesn't work. We are considering having an event at some time, with a lot of anticipation so that a lot of people show up. For now though, we leave it up for people to use as they want. Thanks.
  18. When an argument crosses into personal attacks and such, it really leads to thread to be closed. And this is the case.
