  1. Hey all, Please join me in recognizing JR in honor of his being on staff for 5 years as of June 17! Since joining the community a little over 6 years ago, JR has made an incredible mark. Yes, he's in the top 25 members, in our 20+ year history, when it comes to posts (currently 24th). But, as with all of the great members here, it's far more than post count. It's what he does with it. The KarateForums.com Awards are but one way that our members recognize each other, but it's clear from them that JR is very much appreciated by the community, as he's won 8 awards and been nominated 21 times (both 5th most all-time). JR has helped and created space for far too many members to count, and has made so many feel appreciated and welcome here. As a member of our team, JR has built upon his public contributions by helping to keep the community productive and safe. JR, thank you for being a part of our community, and for everything that you have done as both a member and staff member! I appreciate you. Patrick
  2. I really appreciate this thread, and the personal stories that everyone is sharing. It's amazing to read how karate has impacted your lives. Thank you for being open!
  3. Was able to snag the Biggie vinyl.
  4. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. We recognize one member every month as the KarateForums.com Member of the Month for their positive contributions to this community. Our honoree for June is... CTTKDKing for the second time! Thank you for all of the incredible contributions that you have made to this community over the last 15+ years! Thanks, Patrick
  5. More info on this year's releases: https://recordstoreday.com/
  6. Yeah, the series finale was very satisfying. When they all came back together for the final fight... great payoff moment. Glad Trevor lived, though that surprised me.
  7. Cool, yes, I am familiar with that day, too. We have several great comic shops out here! Anyway, for this year's RSD, I am planning to look out for the Biggie Duets vinyl and maybe the Weird Al Beat On The Brat vinyl, too. Realizing now that Record Store Day is two days a month apart this year, with drops on June 12 and July 17.
  8. Hey, does anyone else look forward to Record Store Day? I always take a look at the exclusives list to check for any artists I'm into. We live close to a couple of cool record stores in Hollywood, including Amoeba Hollywood, and that's sort of made it more fun.
  9. Gotcha. Sorry you are having to go through it.
  10. I'm glad that you've secured insurance, Bob. Still, it stinks you have to wait. What do your doctors say about the delay?
  11. Thank you so much for sharing that with us, Bill. It means a lot. Patrick
  12. Awesome, RW! I'll add you to the list and send you a note as soon as it's ready! Thanks.
  13. Final tally: 18 of our 21 years were represented in our martial arts conversations. Thank you to everyone show showed up on KarateForums.com's birthday!
  14. Thanks for sharing this! Congrats on the promotion and the 30 pounds! That's amazing.
  15. The almost final tally: 16 of our 21 years have been represented. I realized that I didn't mention the Eastern Time zone to everyone who agreed to participate, so didn't want them to be left out, and will extend this so that all time zones are covered, meaning that it is through 7am Eastern Time on May 22.
  16. I thought it was great. Really fun to watch.
  17. 6:52pm Eastern update: 3 more years have checked in, bringing us up to 12 out of 21.
  18. I wasn't sure if I could qualify this as martial arts entertainment, but... Who watches Castlevania on Netflix? I found the finale very satisfying.
  19. Devin, thanks so much for sharing that! It's really amazing to hear that sort of thing, and it'll be good to see you around more as you venture back into the arts. Spartacus Maximus, I'm glad we can be that place for you. Thanks for sharing that. You've definitely helped a lot of people over the years here, and it doesn't go unnoticed.
