  1. Hey rayjag, There are a few different elements to keep in mind. You need web hosting, which hosts your website files and makes them accessible via the internet. Depending on your needs and the traffic you receive, this can range from a few bucks a month up to infinity. Most likely starting at $10 or less a month should suffice. Assuming this is a website you care about and plan to invest it, having a domain name (for example, karateforums.com, yourname.com, etc.) is a good idea. It's a little like having your own postal address, versus getting your mail delivered at someone else's house. If you have yourname.somethingelse.com, the owner of somethingelse.com controls that name and you don't. And then you have your website files. Are you planning to pay a designer or developer? Or do you have a friend that was going to help you out? Or were you hoping to do it yourself by reading some guides and installing a publishing platform like WordPress? Or perhaps, if it's basic enough, through some sort of web based website generator or creator? There are different services out there that will allow you to do that, but they can be limiting. I hope that this helps. Once I know some more, I'll be glad to offer some more thoughts. Thanks, Patrick

  5. I suppose it's fine. Outside of making sure he is and stays healthy, Marshall is really the least of our concerns. I don't really know that that situation last year was any more Marshall's fault than it was McDaniels'. You don't do things like what McDaniels did last year, calling out Marshall and saying he's lying about his injury before the last game of the year, after he had played and produced all season. The numbers are right there. He shows up, plays hard and produces. You don't catch 100 balls for three consecutive years if you don't. Patrick
  6. Yeah, one day I want to go back and play them all and beat them front to back with no warps, etc. Heh. My pleasure on the link. Patrick
  7. Interesting. Don't think I'd seen it before. Thanks for sharing. Regarding the differences, you may want to check what web browsers that you are using. It worked for me in the latest version of Firefox, but in Internet Explorer 8, it did not. Thanks, Patrick

  10. What are you looking for in a martial art, supaman? And what is most accessible to you (Brian's search is a good start)? That'll help people to help you. Thanks, Patrick
  11. I am really excited about Brandon Marshall. He could be the most talented wide receiver we've ever had. I'm optimistic about Henne, too. Quiet optimism is my overall theme. Look forward to the season! Patrick
  12. Thanks for sharing that. Part of me wishes I could flip an option to opt out of the typing text and just have the text displayed. But, cool nonetheless. Thanks, Patrick

  21. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. As you may know, running websites like KarateForums.com is what I do full time (plus ) and, as such, part of the existence of the site relies on generating revenue, mostly through advertising. There are various standards that ads on our site must adhere to, set in place by me in order to maintain the balance between the need for ads and the need for a good environment here. Though it is usually not possible, we prefer to have ads tied to the martial arts in some way, and when I have time, I try to approach martial arts related companies about advertising here. It is because of this, that I am posting this announcement. I wanted to ask you who your favorite martial arts related brands are. This could be any number of things, such as: - Company or individual that manufactures equipment - Company that sells said equipment to you - Educational publisher that helps with curriculum at your school - Billing company that makes it easier for you to run the business end of your school, if you run one - Martial arts book, DVD or other media publisher And so on. Basically, any company or organization that is tied to the selling or creation of martial arts products, the management of a martial arts school or anything like that. Companies who sell things that you like to martial artist and instructors. What I hope to do is to reach out to the brands that you love and respect and ask them if they'd be interested in supporting our community by advertising on it. So, please let me know. I appreciate you taking the time. Sincerely, Patrick
