  1. Videos can help you learn the moves and stuff, but doing them correctly and applying them correctly, thats a different story.
  2. Yea, and like karate_woman said, they could be a super MA master of death and if we get in a fight with them thinking their just some punk shmoe, then we better bend over and kiss our @$$ good bye.
  3. Ummm... I guess some do. It depends on the girl. some like money, some like ripped abs, some like someone who can defend them, and some like everything. And yes, there are some out there that do like us guys for our personality and looks and all that. But it is good to be able to defend them if need be.
  4. Im worried about those 'street fighters" who only throw fast wild, flaling punches with no control. they dont stop....I guess a snap kick to the nuts could stop them though. But it could go either way. If your fighting a person w/ some MA training, then you may know what to expect or how to defend your self against some of their attacks. But then again, if your fighting a street fighter, they may have dirty tricks up there sleve. but they won't be able to stop some of your attacks either.
  5. Haha, yea, im staying away from the country even though I do live in oklahoma. Im not a big rap person. And most of my favorite songs are like 3-5 minutes long. so I was thinking maybe something from tool, or godsmack or something. Thanks for the tips.
  6. Is that right? I didnt know that it wasn't a specific style. Cool.
  7. If I want to to a musical kata, what song would you all suggest?
  8. im gonna sound lame compaired to some of you all. 1-6ft bo 1-"foam nunchacku" 2-metal throwing cards 1-air zooka-haha, its a plastic device that when you pull back on the piece inside it shoots air, its great.
  9. I think that you should train as hard as you can now in the muay thai, and after the 10 months go for TKD/Hapkido. Hapkido is a great art that I would love to take, and I wouldn't mind TKD either, and since your in muay thai you will have strong legs great for kicking. And if you have the money/time, check out the gym that teaches boxing also. Its good back up, especally in a fight or sparring match to be throwing all kinds of kicks and then suprize them witha quick jab or a right hook.
  10. sounds about right to me.
  11. Thats kinda how my school is. a monthly "plan", year "plan", or 3 year "plan", in which you "should have your "black belt". I dont like how they lure you in sayin, "stay here for 3 years on this "plan" and you should have your black belt. Its all silly.
  12. I would love to have a teacher who was privatly taught and could privatly teach me and who isn't money or fame driven.
  13. from the way you all talk of him, I think he would do ok in UFC. But how would he do against a wrestler?
  14. If katas are taught correctly, then you should know why your doing them and what applications each move is for. They are you train you to be able to perform certain moves almost instantly because you would have practiced them so much. But unless you know what to use the blocks and strikes for, then its kinda pointless.
  15. If one is a good enough Jin-est then can he own marduk, craig is flippin great if played correctly. im a hworang(spelling) player my self. Oh, back to the subject, check out vale tudo, its a good art.
  16. A great move to get a quick point in sparring is the quick backfist to the top of the head. Gets them all the time, and if that is blocked or missed follow up with a snap kick to the stomach.
  17. Ohhhhh, ok thanks karate_woman. Yea, eye gouges are super!
  18. Yea, thats the block. In the case of long fingers.........I don't have any suggestions except glasses.
  19. Its very affective and quite useful if done correctly. My friends will try and it turns out being more of a push than a punch. Haha
  20. Vale tudo is rather sweet, it involves a lot of pummeling. Haha, and yea, it is Craig marduks MA on tekken 4, that might give you a small idea as to what its all about.
  21. At my school they do go by a # of classes on a card that need to be filled for progression, but its not followed. The instructor states that if you think your ready to test then you can, unless its for red or black, then there are limitations. After my membership is up at this school, im going to go looking for another school.
  22. Karate_woman, what is tomo-nage?
