has anyone read this book? if so, if anyone has tried the workouts, i was wondering if it is possible to build bulk using dynamic strength exercises and merely imagining it and using great deal of tension. I was thinking that no matter how much tension u use, the muscle fibres arent actively breaking down and building up again hence it is imposs to build bulk. but in the introduction, the author claims it is possible using barbell exercises to build the biceps as the example used in the book. Just wondering your thoughts on this folks.

thank you both for your respective perspectives -
is it possible to use chi to increase strength or speed? iv herd u can but is this just a myth. possibli focussing chi in a fist will make u punch faster or legs to run faster etc...? and what about strength?

Do you guys have any good "CORE" exercises?
KarateKid7 replied to Toolbox's topic in Health and Fitness
thats called "plank" coz your in a position like a plank -
The reason for deja vu i believe is that the right side of the brain is working faster than the right. This means there is no balance. However it is better that the right side is active. Means creativity, etc is enhanced. If you keep seeing deja vu i dont think that is 100% normal. Mayb u shud consider seeing a psychologist if this is the case.

definiteli id recommend the cardio as it would help to keep u fit for the grading which would definiteli be an asset i.e. ur kickboxing and runs...in terms of weights, benching would help to strengthen your punches. I think u shud work on ur core also and abs every other day just to stabalise ur body thoughout ur exercises. The focus pads would do you some good obviousli for accuracy. Anyway well done for passing you college course and good luck.

your martial arts routine of training should include exercises from your pilates classes. This would make you a well rounded martial artist and pilatist. The core is important in martial arts and shouldnt be underestimated. I think you are fortunate to have access to ways in which to improve your core which will definiteli improve your martial arts. Good Luck
