  1. Got no money Oh well.
  2. I do all-styles, but what does that mean? Are there any kinds of kickboxing other than that? Just never thought about it until now and won't see my instructor until Tuesday.
  3. Yeah, I agree with that. I'm gonna do jiu jitsu when I find a place nearby...or judo if I don't. But on the whole, kickboxing is great for what you want DaDragon...and welcome to the boards.
  4. Never thought of it like that before DarkMonkey
  5. lol! Yeah, I think music adds to the buzz you get from doing kicks and stuff.
  6. hi Ray, welcome to karateforums. For all I'm not a TKD student there have been many people like yourself join our class (kickboxing) which also relies a lot on kicks, and with a little bit of work (which everyone has to do regardless of their shape and size) anybody can practise a martial art, IMO. Being able to kick well has nothing to do with your physical state, but more how supple your muscles are, which comes with practise. The only reason the instructor you mentioned was so "thin", as are most MA practitioners, is because the class gives you a workout and it's addictive which means you practise it, burning fat. If you want to do it I think you should go for it, the instructor will only go at your pace and won't force you to kick chin-height if he knows you can't. Hope I was a little help there.
  7. Hehe, see I did learn something after all
  8. welcome bagpuss
  9. hi theone20009
  10. Does a bag work all the muscles?
  11. Great post Angus...are microwave warm-ups the same as circuit training? That's fun...stops you getting bored with one thing.
  12. Where on earth have you gotten all that Korean terminology from? I spent ages and ages searching for Korean words so I could impress Rushman...to no avail. Oh well. Well done you lot.
  13. Quite an interesting discussion...well done Angus. Hmmm, while I agree that we (being America, UK etc) fight differently from civilisations such as China, I haven't really thought about how the average "Joe Bloggs on the street" fights. Next time I see a streetfight (not that there are many round this neck of the woods) I shall pay close attention. And then blame it on Angus when I get asked "what I'm looking at".
  14. That is how it's pronounced Kicker...Sh*t Sue
  15. lol! Kicker, a Shih Tzu is just a very cute type of dog.
  16. Excellent way of putting it Graham.
  17. lol taezee. Yeah, same here, green is way before blue in the belt rankings. Good luck in preparing for blue belt Kickbutt. Haven't got cable here...so unfair, my friends had cable for years and years and we STILL haven't got it.
  18. Hi Kodek, hope you will be able to practise martial arts soon...look forward to reading your views too.
  19. *nods and smiles*
  20. Ooops, sorry, just realised the first post didn't exactly make sense... I was gonna ask what was the best ISP 24/7 type thing to get...because my phone bills are very high Then I remembered most of you were from America so it was a stupid question. Sounds good moobrack Thanks rushman and GoldDragon
  21. That makes sense Angie...glad you want to stick with karate. I gotta say the idea of karate sounds better than kickboxing, but that's probably just a case of "the grass being greener" because when I did karate I really wanted to do kickboxing and thought that was superior. So, um..everyone's right.
  22. It can be hard to take it easy when you find something you like doing and want to get better at though.
