  1. Grinding? If you mean like just normal sounds, like the way a refrigerator runs it's fine. If it's grinding I'd recomend backing up files because You may have dust in the hardrive, although normally it woudl've been broke by now.
  2. Yeah I don't think that guy should be practicing at the dojo if he's acting that immaturly.
  3. Yeah well however unimportant it may be to you, it's very important to me. My mom has had fibromayalga for three years now, and now wee finally linked it to the fact that her pain meds had aspartame in them(must be eaiser taste, only reason I coudl think of.).
  4. From my understanding, Aspartame is only in diet soft drinks, and not all diet sodas have the Aspartame. Diet Rite (by the people that make RC Cola) uses a new sweetener called Splenda...it's a low-calorie, carb-free sweetener that is made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar. It's processed or something. Tastes much better than that saccharine/aspartame taste. Also, if you're worried about aspartame causing cancer, the highest risk is when it's used under high temperature, like baking. That's also why Splenda is great, it can be baked. Although, I'd still be worried about Aspartame no matter what the temperature. Ramymensa: good to see another optimistic soul! I agree that a trial-and-error sort of thing will probably happen, but isn't that just life? People go through many different kinds of one thing before settling on one kind or nothing at all....banks, food, sports, colors, technology, jobs, accuntants, music, etc. It's only natural that martial arts fit in there, too. I read the ingreditents of the Coke cans we have here, they put aspartame in there. And also I'm more worried about the thing where when it gets over 86 degree it like makes it bad and you can develope methanol toxicity, but they mis diagnose it to...uhh crap I gotta read that article again. I know that so far it has killed a lot of people, mostly diabetics though.
  5. Hmm well I go watch the shudokan one tommorow, so I guess i'll make my decision then.
  6. Holy crap, maybe I should look at you guys... umn girls profiles.
  7. Well there are like two veins that carry blood to the head, I think if you block those off for 6 seconds it's suposed to render them unconcious. That's what my book says though.
  8. I dont' think coke is a wise choice anyway. Because coke always makes me burp like alot. That would be one loud dojo.
  9. That's kind of bad. I really am staying away from all soda now after I heard abou the aspartame thing. Besides I don't think they need to be drinking coke, they need water.
  10. Man I went to bed too late last night. I thought you guys were talking abotu Disney. Well that aside when do you think they'll be doing karate?
  11. I remember last summer ESPN2 was doing karate tornuments, it was mostly kata and breaking though, I didn't see any kumite.
  12. Yeah I know what you mean, I think the only thing that made me keep watching it was that asian doctor.
  13. Even though it hasn't come out yet, Bullet Proof Monk, I can tell it's gonna suck.
  14. I think the best gun control policy is the ones in place in the UK. But of course the only part of the american bill of rights that we dont' need, is pretty much the only one they pay attention to.
  15. Well although I don't watch much of the news because I can't help shake the feeling that 80% of what is coming out of there is propoganda, those executions were just plain sick.
  16. Hey now, even though I dont' study karate yet I'm still entitled to my opinion. Afterall I have to have some thought about fighitng, oterwise I probably woudln't be taking a martial art. Besides I never once said that anyone was wrong, I'm open to learning.
  17. Umn is a top a part of a gi, or did I falsley assume many people here were guys?
  18. Alright well about people being lazy and soft. I went to one of the dojos the other day. And they had a newspaper article framed on there. It was about a 63 yeard old 5th dan student who sent a mugger into cardiac arrest with a blow to his solar plexus. I asked the intructor about what all she did, and he said just the standard classes, but the difference was that she went to every class possible. I really don't think that it has to do with the student but rather the type of instruction they get. For instance I watched a class today at the local goju place, and all I heard was about their form, and the proper way to execute it, nothing about the application of it. Oh and also about people turning black belt and becomin instructors. Every instructor at my dojo is a 5th dan, or higher.
  19. I went to the local goju-ryu dojo today. I watched the whit belt class. It was intresting because as I looked at the shedule I noticed that one class teaches most of the ranks. Like instead of having on rank in one class they have mixed ones. Like green - purple and three instructors to teach them all. On the other hand the shudokan dojo has different classes for every rank, about 16 instructors, still not sure how many instructor per class, but there is one rank in every class instead of mixed. Which do you guys think is better instruction?
  20. Well it seems intresting because there are currently 90 people in all 3 beggining adult classes at my dojo.
  21. No one is every in the chat when I'm on.
  22. Well natural sugar, and some artifical sweeteners are fine, it's just aspartame
  23. Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Tahi, Jeet Kune Do, Sambo, those are all the ones i coudl think of.
  24. LMAO I feel sorry for the 30,000 members wo boutgh that crap.
