  1. We discovered a re-breakable board in the locker. This lead to me rambling about Chi and putting my head through it.
  2. What aspect of your karate do you want to improve?
  3. That's the Do of Jutsu.
  4. Can't hurt to talk to him, but I think he'll pick up on it the longer he stays with us.
  5. I think I've seen the video of this. Everyone was having fun at the time. It would be silly to get upset later.
  6. Who cares about Rome? This is America. It's our Constitutional right to speak out of turn. I say reevaluate the friendship with a heavy dose of retro McCarthyism. Given her opinions of social status, I suspect she's a Tory Loyalist.
  7. What's wrong with disengaging? If I can't enter to a clear-cut advantage, I'd just as soon back up and start over. Hopefully causing damage on the way out. The suffering part is a simple truth of existence.
  8. It's hard to see a small blade, but they can do some damage. I saw the cut another place- no link you sick little monkeys. It was pretty nasty. Yes, a good control could be a good idea. It would be good for the guy to wake up with someone ready to make his fingers touch his elbow if he moved. Also, don't let the person you're rescuing out of your sight. They'll stab you as soon as the abuser will.
  9. I think that your thought process needs to be ahead regardless of range, hopefully enough that it's not a surface thought but an instinct. Ranges as separate entities I believe are useful as a beginning aid to understanding, but the dynamics involved in flowing between them become more important later on. It's a matter of what weapons can reach what targets, both ways. In free movement, there are different ranges, too. The range where I can't reach you, the range where I can reach your lead hand, and the range where I can reach your face. Now take into account that I'm 5'7" and you may be 6'5" or have a warhammer or a handgun, things get complicated. Then we get into attitudes of using range- my main 3 are Crush your enemies, Stand your ground, and Burnt earth policy. Now it's really complex. I think if I have a point, its that ranges "blur" for lack of a better word. Is that why he comes up with "phases" as opposed to "ranges", or have I missed the point?
  10. Where is Michone, dang it?!
  11. I'm more worried about Hershel. Maybe it's just my distrust of pacifists, but I think he's going over the edge.
  12. This might be the start of the greatest nerd argument ever. Also, I didn't read your article, but please listen to my grievances with it.
  13. This seems oddly fitting.
  14. You knockdown people are a bunch of hippies... I'm confused.
  15. Usually after a few rounds of heavier contact. I think a person should be able to read when it's weird and when it's appropriate. Probably is more common among grappling arts. What's a hug amongst people who sit on each other's heads, after all.
  16. What? This is a serious issue.
  17. I can't understand why these things are ever taught separate from their application. Looks more like an attack than a block to me.
  18. Awesomeness!!!!
  19. That sounds serious. You should get that x-rayed.
  20. George Lucas probably put the Indian guy up on the deal there. Kali Ma!
  21. We's taught ta respect the womenfolk round theez parts. However, you will also hear the phrase "round these parts" used without a hint of irony.
  22. Did they change the scene in later editions? I just watched a clip where Greedo did shoot first. Was Lucas trying to make Han more heroic? Seems stupid to do so, he was meant to be a Byronic hero, at times even an antihero.
  23. Don't forget to drink your ovaltine, huh? That sucks.
  24. thanks for posting guys.
