  1. 12/21 Knife disarms and redirects into controls Pressure point striking Was a nice workout cause i didn't have to move around a bunch with my jacked up toe
  2. You have a right to your opinion, but to say that our sparring partners are dancing with us is borderline style bashing, which i believe is prohibited on this forum. As a member of this system i take great offense to anyone that, without firsthand experience training our system, would slander it as such. I am not a black belt, i do my best to train for every situation that may be presented. Our art say that we must be proficient at all ranges, this includes everything from grappling to being a decent marksman with a rifle and everything in between. I train Bjj, boxing, kickboxing etc., For you to say that techniques such as eye gouges are to simple to require basic practice and application is very short sided of you. In Bruce Lee's Tao of Jeet Kune Do, he recognizes that the human body has three primary targets, the groin and two eyes. If you want to say that our system and those who practice it are "dumb" or that Masterpain is "lying", at least come train with us first. Adapt or die, believe me, were not dead yet.
  3. Im sorry you are wrong, you will recieve no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
  4. Jackie chan is in enter the dragon multiple times, the one time you can really tell its him is when They zoom in on bruce's face before he breaks jackie's neck
  5. Hopefully ill be healed up by the time you get down hear so we can get some work done. I may be grossly out of shape by then, but am looking forward to it none the less. Due to this i am asking for wrestling shoes for christmas.
  6. 12/18 30 hour of clinch striking, i tried to focus on some unorthodox targets(arm pressure points and the like) Moved on to grappling-freeroll about 25 minutes and 50 percents. Then we picked up the intensity slightly, then while transitioning from an omoplata to a triangle my right pinky toe got caught where two mats come together and snapped(sounded like a firecracker went off). It is badly broken and without the aid of tape would be at a 45 degree angle from my foot. So i somehow got back home(driving was interesting) and am in quite a lot of pain. Injuries are depressing and i just about polished off a box of andes mints in the process, looks like i might be out of action for a while.
  7. 12/17 Clinchwork w/ takedowns Boxing 30 minute freeroll
  8. 12/16 Just Sensei and myself tonight, it was good to 1 on 1 quality instruction and training tonight. 30 minute snorkel circuit consisting of: Shoulder exercises with dumbells Weighted shadow boxing Mountain climbers assorted abdominal exerscises pushups through and backs Moved on the hitting focus pads until exhaustion. Tonight we worked different attack and defend scenarious with guns, blades, and clubs. We really tried to focus on more flowing movement in our disarms and redirects. We mixed together flowing movement from aikido and aiki jujitsu, with striking movements from Krav Maga. Fun was had by all.
  9. Since they happen at the same time, Ill say yes
  10. using a snorkel while training, decreases the amount of oxygen that your lungs recieve. Your muscles adapt to functioning without as much oxygen during exercise. This way when you exercise without a snorkel your muscels are recieving much more oxygen than they are accustomed to getting, and this greatly increases your endurance. During this your nose is plugged as well. I first saw this technique used by Vanderlei Silva during a training camp and im a believer. This is my second regiment using a snorkel, the first was this past August just before going to Vegas for 3 days. I was trying to get ready for the altitude change while working out. Worked out two whole days as Xtreme Couture and it was the most awesome thing i have ever experienced. All thanks to the snorkel.
  11. 12/13 45 minute cardio lift with a snorkel, worked mostly abs and shoulders 10 minutes on aerodyne bike with snorkel
  12. Look at mma, the majority of submissions are Rnc's guilotines, and armbars. You don't see a huge amount of real exotic complicated submissions. Its quality not quantity
  13. Kick to the groin, accompanied with simultaneous eye gouge
  14. Along with masterpain i to practice Bujin Bugei Jutsu. BBJ is a principle based martial art. It gives your concepts to learn and understand and then allows you to apply them to your own body type and preffered ways of fighting. As MP said in the previous post not one BBJ blackbelt has the same style. We have Karate, wrestling, Muay Thai, TKD, Bjj, Boxing, Kickboxing and others represented by long standing members of our clan.
  15. Yes, if you train nothing but full contact, hard sparring, not only will you be injured more, your technique will suffer. One must mix together light and heavy contact when sparring. We only spar hard contact about 1 day a week.
  16. thursday 12/9 Light warm up Knife disarms, light knife sparring Worked a takedown with some newbies Freeroll with sensei Wokeup in the morningwith nagging shoulder pain.
  17. I love how you refer to walmart, as "the walmart" sorry just funny to me. In this same vain, practicing with hand held tools such as hammers, brooms, dowel rods would be the equivalent of japanese farmers realizing that a crank handle could be taken off and used as a club(tonfas)
  18. Wed12/8 45 minute snorkelcircuit 5 rounds mma-Everyone fighting with contrasting syles drawn out of a hat(yeah we were bored) 3 rounds GnP
  19. I agree, being able to take a punch is not a venture unto itself.
  20. 12/6 Stand up night-3 rounds kickboxing, 3 roundsboxing, all high intensity. 45 minute snorkel circuit
  21. In 28 days later, zombies are capable of running 5 second forties. They have definately speeded up in recent years.
  22. Being a teacher and Illinois resident for all my life I don't agree with much that goes on in my state. This being one example, imo we are teaching kidsto be helpless. We are teaching them that if there is a problem that somebody will always be there to step in and fix it. Sorry not going to happen. People are taught that the police will be there to protect them from evil. When in reality police are there to usually clean up the mess. I will now vacate the soap box.
  23. Awareness and avoidance. Being aware of your surroundsingsand avoiding places where there could be trouble eliminates a large percentage ofself defense situations
