New, and A question...
g replied to Ahazmaksya's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
i was doing kickboxing (fc, all kicks above waist) and kung fu but started boxing last week and am going to do judo once i find a good club. a good mix because both are easy to grasp the basics of and (because i know how to block kicks already) you can deal with most situations [ This Message was edited by: g on 2001-11-09 09:17 ] -
do u think boxing and judo would be an effective combo for the street or would a different ground fighting be better mixed with boxing.

u dont have to move fast just get the timing and its easy to dodge punchs. u can also dodge and jab(not powerfully but enough to paw them off) which is much easier than block and counter or block and lock -

fighting isn't based on the tv watched but on the attitudes of the people around them if you liveing a working class area chances are your harder because your expected to be and when you fight you'll probibly fight harder because thats how you fight where as middle class boys just don't understand ps i'm the exception -
POLL: What do you think would be the best weapon to use in a
g replied to Patrick's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
a one foot baton and a two foot baton(very different wepons) as they are easy to pick up -
just hit them.
-
sparring is very important but u should have 6 more months experience so u know what your doing right and wrong and know what bad habits not to pick up
-
stict to the simple and dont worry aout your hand jab cross hook will either finish it or make them want to stop fighting especially if you hit them in the nose
