muaythaidm Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 I was just wondering what art everybody does and how long he/she practice per day. And how many days a week.
BlueDragon Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 Hello I practise Kyokushin 2-3 times a week. The classes are suppossed to be an hour long but most people stick around for a couple more rounds in the ring and arrive half an hour early to warm up. So usually I'm there for about two hours. Also I take two week breaks every three months to give me time to heal and relax. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky" -Hendrix
Iron Arahat Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 I personally run classes 4 days a week for 1.5-2hrs each.... Train personally 1 hr per day - 6 days per week... Weight train 3 days a week... Run 5 days a week... Slowed down a bit in my old age...when I was fighting on an ongoing basis...it was 4 hours a day 6 days a week... MuayTB1 Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 I go to teakwondo class for 1 hour and 15 mintues for 5 times a day. I train by my self in MT for 1 and half hour a day. Then I lift one hours a day. I also run and jump rop for 30 mintues. So about 3 hours and 15 mintues a day. I am planing to do more running so I can last longer in training. "Don't think!! babysteffee Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 One hour-and-a-half lesson of kickboxing a week...and about 30 minutes of practising nearly every day.Running between 3-8 miles a day, 4 or 5 times a week.Sit-ups, tricep dips and press-ups every day (not many because they're boring)Skipping whenever I find a moment. At least 40 minutes of yoga a day. That's about it.
Goose Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 I train at the dojo 4 (soon 5) times a week (for an hour and a half each day). When I'm not at the dojo, I practise for at least 2 hours each day at home (Kihon basics, Kata, and Gohon Kumite). I also practise Kobudo, twice a week (or when I can) for an hour and a half. I used to go weight training 3 times a week, but I got bored of it _________________ Best Wishes Darryl Garrick 9th Kyu Shotokan Karate Karate International Black Belt Schools (UK) [ This Message was edited by: Goose on 2001-08-23 12:13 ] Goose6th Kyu Shotokan Karate9th Kyu Okinawan KobudoKarate International Black Belt Schools (UK)
babysteffee Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 Glad to know someone else finds weight-training so boring
Goose Posted August 23, 2001 Posted August 23, 2001 I do (sometimes) use ankle and wriste weights whilst practising at home, it's suprising what a difference they can do, especially with blocks, kicks and punches. Angus Posted August 24, 2001 Posted August 24, 2001 HapKiDo, Freestyle Kickboxing, Wushu, Zendokai Karate, Brazilian Jujutsu, Boxing and currently Goju Ryu Karate. On top of my Karate lessons each week i train (on average) 2 hours a day 4 days a week in various stuff such as weights, running, skipping and technque and bagwork. Recently though i had been training every day and now the doctor seems to think i'm gonna send myself to an early grave. Bah!
