GrrrArg Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Cool it guys, no need for personel attacks. From any of you. Please try to keep the discusion civil, it spoils it for everyone else otherwise. Thanks.
DLopez Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Now, we have personal attacks? I think that shows how insecure you really are about yourself. It just states you are a shallow person with low self estem, and if you can regain some " dignity " by insulting people on the internet then go right ahead. Oh come on. That wasn't a personal attack any more than you saying I have no skill, or your insinuation that what I wrote isn't truthful, or saying I'm shoving my foot down my throat was... or did I misinterpret your intentions behind what you wrote? Besides, didn't you see the smiley? Very well, I apolgize to the list for my part in the direction this discussion has taken. BTW - I still haven't seen a half-decent explanation of why weight training for strength is bad. DeanDahn Boh Nim - Black-Brown BeltKuk Sool Won"Dream as if you'll live forever. SevenStar Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 personal attack? what did I say? I'll give na ked warrior a look.
Treebranch Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 What kind of exercises do those Cicus de Sole guys do? That's the kind of strength I wish I had. I would rule the earth with that kind of strength. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
wing chun kuen man Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 They obviously do a lot of stretching exercises. They must also do incredible amounts of resistance training, e.g. hanging from bars or maintaining certain press/push up etc. positions until the muscles burn. The things we could all do with that kind of strenght. Wing Chun Kuen Man Real traditional martial arts training is difficult to find.....most dojos in the west are Mcdojos....some are better and some are worst....but they are what they are....do you train in one?

Treebranch Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 They are these acrobatic performers that do really incredible stuff, but they do it really slow and precise. For example, they go into a hand stand in slow motion and then lift one arm and put it by their side without adjusting or wobbling. It crazy how strong these people are. Thuggish Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 im gonna be the oddball here and get back on subject.... while endurance is certainly a good thing, and cardio fitness is the best thing for your body... in a fight its all about brute strength. sure in the ring you need to last... on the street a fight is decided in 30 seconds. just about anyone can last that long, you need some explosive power to take your opponent out before youre taken out. a broken arm throws no punches
