    Moving

I'm currently, in the process of moving for college, which means I sadly have to leave my Shotokan Dojo, and begin looking for a new place to train. Which upsets me becuase there's a belt test that I can not attend becuase I've missed class for the last two weeks, trying to get stuff done for college. Anyways the point of this whole post is I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Shotokan dojo in Murfreesboro TN, close to the MTSU campus? I haven't had much look at finding anything through internet searches, at the point so I figured I would see if anyone has any knowledge they could share. If there's no where for a strong traditional shotokan school, I wouldn't mind changing to Shito-ryu or kyokushin if all else fails.
  2. I sat down one day and watch them all straight through. Their really great, the ones that that formed the storyline and took over the series are amazing. I wonder if they have released more since i watched them.. its been ages.
  3. I forgot to add that DC has the new Watchmen movie coming out, which has a good chance of giving them a huge boost, in the race. I would honestly like to see some other comic book lines take a shot at movies again. For example Image Comics could totally take a shot at updating the Spawn line.. it's full of potential.
  4. DC's best bet to me is to Batman.. It's the one kind of hero that marvel doesn't have. I mean of course i want to see more dc, movies and hero's, but my point is they should keep focusing on quality in stead of quantity.. becuase while Marvel has produced a ton of movies already a good number of them were complete duds. At this rate theres a chance they could burn out the industry before it even gets started.
  5. Mortal Kombat was intense at the time, but the game itself has really died off in all the third version.. I mean I've never bothered to play any game past Mortal Kombat n64. It was great when they started out, but their story lines and characters were all ways more generic than other fighting games. Though still quite good I love Sub-zero and the guys to this day. Just love Street fighter far more. It always seems that MK died when fighting games died in popularity becuase their fan base was everyone the people that just loved the popular games of the time. for ST however their fan based was composed more like a cult-classic fan base. That's why it's still going today the fans back in the day are still the guys and girls playing it today. that's just my take on it I could surely be wrong though. Also for the record I was always a Ryu guy myself.
  6. Considering we See Batman survive the fall, and Marconi the mobster survived a similar fall earlier. Your correct its quite possible that he survived and was tucked away in Arkarm so know one would know the actual fate of Harvey Dent. Also if we look at the fact that the coffin is never actually show in the closing death scene, thats a movie's sure fire way to leave room for a come back. Also the most important point if you look at his coin on the ground as he is laying there it's laying face-up. All foreshadowing a possible come back. On the other hand I agree that i wouldn't mind seeing Hush, Bane, or even Black Mask... heck even The Riddler would be nice if they took a darker more comic book approach like they did the joker.
  7. and looks good! I just wish they would add some more characters.. From what I've seen its the original SF 2 characters plus like three more. I don't even think Cammy and the other add on characters for SF2 hyper fighting are going to be in it.. but i could be wrong.
  8. Well... for what it's worth if you watch the details of the end. It's completely possible for two-face to come back, his death actually isn't confirmed.
  9. Congrats man, good to hear your enjoying it and I wish you all the best of luck on your martial arts journey. Osu
  10. I'll be in the theater tomorrow for sure.
  11. The new attachment looks interesting, but I'm kind of getting sick of Nintendo hold all these things back and making them basically necessary add-on fee's to play the 98% of the games. ..though i will say that sword fighting looks very nice and I've been waiting for such since the we came out.. Since the red steel sword fighting was horrible and not available in multiplayer.
  12. Two Shotokan classes today. Sensei worked us pretty hard second class, we trained a wide spectrum of techniques and drills instead of focusing on only a few things like normal. A lot of sparring. After that came home and hit on my new makiwara for the first time... It's rather think I think I need to cut it down a bit more.
  13. 2 times a week in the actual Dojo, my classes are one hour in length. However 90% of the time I stay for two classes becuase Sensei allows it and encourages it. So it actually equals out to about 2 hours of training on those days, and 4 actual class a week.
  14. A statement of a true martial artist, and the fact that you felt bad about having to use your training on someone just further proves that statement. Good work.
  15. You sound like my kind of guy! I've never played any of the street fighter three games, are they as good as I hear?

    Your GI

I was the same when I first got mine. They are in fact very comfortable, I'd say it's okay to wear it around the house for a bit, just make sure to get up and do some karate instead of sitting on the couch the whole time.
  17. If I may suggest, one of the best ways to train with out directly punching and kicking if you don't have equipment is to go out and excise when you get the chance. Like others have already suggested push-ups, crunches, sit in the floor and stretch why your watching TV. Anyways back to original purpose of my post, go running or jogging. It builds endurance and leg strength, heck it makes your lungs stronger and if you push yourself a little more each day it builds your determination. Start with a mile if you can, if not as close as you can and build up. Once you get to a mile the next day, or every other day or when ever.. try and do it a bit fast and more consistent keeping the same speed till the end push. After you can do a mile fairly well step it up to two miles. I'll admit during the winter I stopped running and got lazy, so I'll have to start over but last time I had a good running regimen I got to where I could run three and 1/2 fairly easy.
  18. As far as I know, no. Hopefully if I ever have children they will be interested and want to take it up with dear old dad. (HOWEVER since i'm 19 and hardly ready for that and not sure i'd even want children lets just say no at the moment)
  19. I've seen it before, and your right I find it very entertaining.
  20. Welcome back!
  21. I've got to say I commend Sensei Rick, on his out look on things. Now, I'm not judging anyone who has a few drinks. I just really respect people that ave no urge or need for things such as this. I'm a teenager/young adult adn I don't drink and have never felt the need to use any kind of substance like that. I have plenty of friends that enjoy drinking, and many worse things, as well as my father used to be a alchy.. and I've just never felt the urge to get sloshes or even the slightest bit drunk and stummble around like a fool. Not saying that anyone here or that everyone does that I just don't like mess with a substance that has the power to do that kind of thing. My personal view on it is, substance like the one in question change people's preception and state of mind of the things going on around them. And I personally would like to allways be in control of my own actions, mind and out look. Which is why I choose to stay away from mood altering substances as much as possible. that's my two cents, and respect anyone else view point on the matter, if they like to have a drink fine by them... I do however get kinda sick of random people on the street/parties/job/etc treating me like im strange, insane, a prude, or that theres something wrong with me for not wanting to get wasted.
  22. There where so many ports and editions to Street Fighter 2 that it's hard to keep up, heck back then it was even hard to remember which version was what. But some how it still managed to be one of the greatest games of all time IMO.
