  2. What are typically the first couple of thows a judoka needs to learn to promote? Or maybe not necessarily needs to promote but is taught?
  3. I agree 100%with rainbow warrior. What made Bruce Lee so great was that he wasn't afraid to combine any styles together. His goal was to in fact do this, to have a flawless game, so that his fighting system incorporated pieces of all other fighting systems.
  4. I think I would mix brazilian jiu jitsu, american kenpo karate, and judo. I would call it kenjiu karate-do. My system would offer the fast, rapid strikes of the self defense of kenpo, along with devastating throws from judo and the amazing ground work of bjj.

  7. I would have to go with: tae kwon do karate kung fu some form of wrestling judo brazilian jiu jitsu muay thai boxing krav maga tai chi in some order.

    For anyone who studies kempo, I was just curious how your belt system works.

  13. I think I'm going to join his school. He said there are a couple of tournaments his school goes to so maybe that's why he got his black belt in that time. Anyway, I am interested in training in judo so I will try his school our for a while.
  14. I don't live in a dangerous neighborhood or anything, but it's nice to know i can defend myself and my family if need be, even in the future when I start my own family. That and it is fun..lol..
  15. I love Chuck Liddell. He's a beast, but his form is a little sloppy.
  16. I pay $150 a month for up to 4 classes a week and I get an extra class in bjj, so I'm basically getting ranked in 2 arts for the $150. No test fees ever.
  17. I was wondering if someone could who studies judo could answer this for me. How long on average does one have to train to get a black belt in judo? I know everybody here on the forums hates questions like these but I was just curious. I know someone who said they got their judo black belt in five years training only once a week for an hour and a half. Is this possible?

  20. Studied shokokai karate for about 1 & 1/2 years when I was younger. Now, kenpo for 8 months and brazilian jiu jitsu for about a month or two.
  21. Kick with the instep only to the groin area. Anywhere else and damage could be done to he foot. For all other kicks anywhere else. I use the shin.
