  1. Thanks for your opinions guys.
  2. How many others of you have had an instructor leave to open a new school? And if you have, please tell whether you followed your instructor or not, or anything you would like. (This is in relevance to my other post 'Instructor Leave'.)
  3. Ok, so last night after my class, my sempai told us about how he was going to be leaving us. It turns out that him and his instructor are going to be opening up their own school, and are going to break away from our current one. Well at first I was obviously disheartened by this. I have been training with both him and his instructor for just about a year now, and even though this may not be as long as some of you others have been training with your instructors, it is still a long enough time for me. They want to break away because they don't like how some of the other dojo's our school has are being ran. However, after being upset, I realized his new location would be close enough for me to still possibly train with them! So I will have to wait until January to train again with them, which is when their own school will be opening, but it'll be well worth the wait. So we will see how things progress. He promised to keep in touch and keep me updated on the opening of his new school.
  4. I'd have to agree with this post the most. In reality, how many people walk around with a butterfly knife, or some sort of spray? Being alive is more important than being a dead hero. Run and call the cops and report the mugging.
  5. Very good post. I enjoyed reading it.
  6. I think everyone has the right to defend themselves, as long as it really is in a time of self defense. Just because someone bad mouths your mother, or something along those lines doesn't give anyone the right to go and strike that person. But in the circumstances the BB of C has presented, the kid should have struck back. He would have maybe installed some fear in the kid not to mess with him. Let the bully know he will defend himself in necessary.
  7. I couldn't have said it better.
  8. Good luck!...(what do you mean uniform check?)
  9. Yea, I don't really think it's that painful either.
  10. A little over a year ago I was jumped by 8 guys. I got the whole nine yards...sucker punched, knock to the ground..whatever. This was a little before I started seriously training in martial arts, and I instinctively knew as soon as I was knocked down to GET BACK UP! I learned the hard way. It was because of that, that I stepped my training up. I know feel more confident walking around bad towns and streets, and maybe people can sense that(at least I hope they can!) Anyhow, sry to go off topic, standing up is your best chance for survival.
  11. Nice! What an honor. KF Member of the Month crossed of my life's checklist. Next up...An Emmy award!
