  1. The main thing that attracted me to it is its blocking techniques.
  2. I was in the IMDB boards a few minutes ago, specificaly the Bruce Lee board, well there was a thread there that discussed his body and training and this guy posted saying that there was a magazine that had his weight lifting routine in it, he said that his training allowed him to gain muscle strength but without losing his flexibility and speed which is what he wanted and he had like %9 body fat: Shoulders Clean and presses: 2 sets, 8 reps Lats Barbell pullovers: 2 sets, 8 reps Biceps Barbell curls: 2 sets, 8 reps Chest Bench-presses: 2 sets, 6 reps Lower Back/Glutes/Hams Good mornings: 2 sets, 8 reps Quads Squats: 2 sets, 12 reps Abs Waist Twists: 4 sets, 90 repetitions Sit up Twist: 4 sets, 20 repetitions Leg Raises: 4 sets, 20 repetitions Leaning Twist: 4 sets, 50 repetitions Does anyone know anything about this?
  3. Hello, I am very interrested in starting to practice Wing Chun but the thing is, there are no instructors where i live (Israel)... I just really want to but it's not possible. I'm 15 years old so it's not possible for me to move, I've been training Shotokan Karate for 8 years and am a black belt, i think it would be great to learn a second martial art. So what do you think i should do? Thanks.
  4. I'd like to know how to make my punches faster, is it all about the muscles and nothing but the muscles? Thanks
  5. Am not wining because i dont think that karate will make me able to do one finger pushups. Am just saying that after watching these videos (no they weren't all bruce lee videos, just jkd training videos) i thought hey, there is nothing similliar to that kind of defence in karate which is not a thing to ignore.
  6. Hello, I'm 15 years old and i've been practising Shotokan karate since i was 7 years old or so. I've seen some Jeet Kune Do videos last night along with some Bruce Lee footage, and i just loved it, which pretty much left me in confuse. Is Karate a bad choice for self defence? In kumite, you're allways in the low fighting stance, and to be honest, I dont know how that would work in a real fight. In karate, the only punch you ever really use is the "geyagotsoki" (i know that's not how you spell it) but in Jeet Kune Do it's so much more than that, and the defence techniques in Karate are pretty much just blocks and are nothing compared in the ones in Jeet Kune Do. I just can't imagine myself in a real fight using my Karate teachings, but i dont feel the same when it comes to Jeet Kune Do. Thanks for reading.
