  1. Word, every non-MA i've met at school has asked me almost the same questions. I just answer each question truthfully. 1. 1 year 2. orange belt. I have 9 more year to cop a blackbelt 3. i wouldn't need to fight you unless you actually threatened my life.
  2. No dis, but who goes to Dojo for 15 min then spends 30 min falling in love?
  3. What i find really strange and even a bit crazy is when someone sees a technique or move from a random movie and is actually able to pull it off. My friend saw a reverse spinning roundhouse kick and actually hit me with it. I wasn't surprised that i got hit, but at the fact that he took time to learn this Jean Claude Van Damme kick. P.S. i scraped him later in our sparring session.
  4. A lot of those movies are tight. Plus Wu-Tang know their MA movies. They all grew up on Shaw Bros. and even Kurosawa's good stuff. (read the Wu-Tang Manual)
  5. That theme isn't original for just that movie. It's in a couple of movies before, such as the original Drunken Master. I personally hate movies with wires. The plot itself and the historical symbolism made it less of a MA movie and sorta like Crouching tiger, hidden dragon.
  6. the funniest part was when he wanted to fight the kid and he was RIPPED!! Actually, the funniest part for me was when the farmer woman hits him and he loses teeth. My mom's a farmer herself, shes pretty buff.
  7. Goju-boi, your not alone. Here's my personal playlist. Dont get wierded out. 8. Allegedly, he is at a point of what we would call "bruce lee skill."
  9. I'd say Legend of drunken master. The directing style is all hollywood, not hong kong.
  10. Yes, Ninja turtles go so dumb. I still have the 1st movie from 94. I just watched with my friends and we all agree that there was little flashyness with their MA. They were like a cartoon jackie chan reptile butt-kicking group. And Splinter was a boss! Don't knock the kung fu hustle. Stephen chow is funny.
  11. Spidey would scrape Daredevil. Hands down. -Spidey has better endurance. This fools swings all around NY. Daredevil would be throwing up a lung if he cover one-fourth the ground. - DD cant grab onto walls. If spiderman knocked him off a building, it's pretty much game over for DD. - Spiderman has super-strength. One punch would knock that Daredevil fool out. -spiderman's just a boss. He would scrape Batman too.
  12. Me in 25 years. Don't ever doubt yourself. Anyone of us might reach a greater level than the people we're mentioning me. Plus I'm crazy right now after only one year of MA. 25 years is gonna do something.
  13. This is great!! I'll go see that, but you can't hate on the other shaolin movies, especially ones made by Shaw Bros. Maybe Wu-Tang practitioners will follow and have some involvement from the Wu-Tang Clan (the emcees) because they do practice Shaolin Kempo. or was it wu-tang?
  14. I saw it last winter on bootleg. Since, Tony Jaa isn't a MA for money, i don't think he would have had a problem. They redid it for the U.s., tho. What relle gets me is the "Quentin Tarantino" presents. I'm a filmmaker that knows his style and he didn't do isht! He did that for hero, too. My favorite part is when he breaks all those guys arms and legs. Tony Jaa should stop him out for that. JK
  15. Yo mommas so fat, she went out in high heels and came back in flip-flops yo mommas so fat, she went out in high heels and struck oil yo mommas so stupid, she don't know the recipe for ice Yo mama so fat she went to the movies and sat next to everyone yo mommas so fat, the Hubble thought the earth grew a tumor Yo mama so fat when you get on top of her, you get altitude sickness Yo mama so fat even her clothes have stretch marks And, anyone wanna go on a "yo mamma" geesin' spree can try me.
  16. I first saw that movie last year and almost died laughing. I hate to laugh at suffering, but that was so funny. That one montage posted by PAL was what youtube is made for. His next round of movies weren't up to par. The "funny" ones were entertaining, but the guy who couldn't break the bat killed my funny high. It was like something out of a cheesy hollywood movie. I felt really bad because hella people were such laughing at him and he looked ready to cry. =>
  17. The Jian's my favorite sword because it's really fast and bladed on both sides.
  18. Yeah, i agree. A broadsword isn't really heavy, its just a bit wider than a straight sword, hence the name. I've studied both for a little and my personal favorite is the jian because its a bit faster and cuts on both sides, so it can cut an area twice if you do it really fast. Like slash with a reverse grip, twist low into a cross step, switch to your right and slash again as you twist more. (this is a step in the Dragon and Phoenix jian set)
  19. I agree. The Jian will scrape you, but it will do it without any mess. A jian cut is like a damascus blade, it goes in clean and it gets the job done. A dao gets the job done, but the hacking motions could make a fight bloody if you miss or set stuck in bone, like a battle axe.
  20. Congratulations, thats really dope. There probably is a scientific explanation to this, as someone said about endorphins, but i think it truly is a spiritual experience as Manabimasho1 said. That happened to me to an extent today while i was doing a complete review. I was about halfway through when I "zoned out" and kind watched myself do the rest of the format.
  21. I personally cannot really judge a person only one of their beliefs. regarding, phyisical "disciplining" with children. I support spanking as a consequence for something pretty major like stealing and fighting/ hurting someone physically or emotionally.
  22. I agree with those that say this is possible, but it is highly improbable to use in an actual fight unless you're a master, and as one person said: his/her sensei only used it in a very desparate situation and later helped the agressor recover because the strike was so deadly. I personally think a lot of these "make ice/fire/NRG shots with Chi" are ridiculous and usually exagerations.
  23. Tef

    Mantras

I read that one of the most basic maditation is just to breathe in and out and just count your breaths. Focus on the air going in and out of you and this may seem really "hippie," but feel the essence of the air as it gives you life. By the time I actually get to that stage, i've killed an hour meditating.
  24. LOL. It's like the laundry. Meditate. Add less self. Repeat until enlightented.
