  1. I heard in another post that you were in JKD before. What is your take on the strong side foreward? Did you like it or do you feel the Thai is better? One more thing, have you ever experianced Paul Vunak and hid RAT system with the straight blast? Thanks
  2. Excalibur- will cut thru anything.
  3. What is everybodys take on this guy? I saw some of his self defense videos and he is crazy....A great guy to have on your side in a fight.
  4. What are we considering altercations? Does mugging, Robbery, rape, car jackings fit into that catagory? Can an altercation be an assult and one with a weapon, if we include the above assults then the statistics will go up. I do think that it would be vary rare to come up against a trained Arnis fighter than a drunk guy with a knife....If I had my coice drunk guy..lol
  5. I would like to see the statistics that most altercations do not involve weapons, it is more of an opinon than a statement. Who would walk over to a billiards table and pick up a stick, Unless your playing. I was trying to point out, use the weapons in your enviorment- chairs, ash trays, pocket change, improvise and be aware.
  6. Yes and No. Yes it is a great weapon to learn but I would rather focas on something that we can use or encounter in real life. like escrima, it would cover blades and blunted weapons. You might not be walking down the street whith chucks or for that fact kali sticks, but it is easier to improvise a stick. ( rebar, bottle, bat, pool stick, tree branch, 2x4, etc..)
  7. if someone threatens my personal space and I have the room, I will back up and give them one chance, then I would intercept if they move in or destruct the limb ( defang the snake ) if they strike. One thing I like to stress is weapons training ( blunt object and knife ) it enhances your empty hand techniques.
  8. Would a navy seal or a MMA have a better chance of defending himself in a bar with a man bent on killing them with a knife? That is a real senario, unarmed combat is only for the cadge. A seal in a bar will be armed or at least know how to improvise a kali stick from a cue stick.
