  1. I can see the point that you are making. But to play devil's advocate, do you think any thoughts like this would come up if you would have had as much experience in wrestling, Muay Thai, or boxing?
  2. I have this same feeling at times as well. Anymore, though, minus the bad feeling. It gets old, after a while, being used up like that.
  3. It is not a double test, it is more like what srv is talking about; a recommended rank, then I test for the decided rank in 6 months or less. The kicker is, if I don't test for the decided rank within 6 months, I go back to 2nd dan decided! I feel like I am going to get ripped.
  4. I do that system now, and have done the ATA forms in the past. I like the system now, but the ATA was nice, with all the kicks in the forms.
  5. Some TKD guys in the UFC? Cool!! Gotta have that grapping skill, though.
  6. Cool. Sounds like a good time! I would love to have the opportunity to learn some BJJ. I have a brother that lives in the St. Louis area, maybe I can board up there for a year or so!
  7. Cool, that is interesting. I will have to look into that.
  8. I have never experienced it for myself, but I have seen it. I love to watch the fights, and I like the throws. I think it would be a blast to learn.
  9. I am tight, and I KNOW this is a lot of money!
  10. Yeah, I thought it had a touch of originality to it as well. If I were to do it, I don't think I would wrap the end of the hammer, though.
  11. Have you ever done the Chang 'on system?
  12. Yeah, it is a great burner as well.
  13. Oooh, ouch! You don't like the tae-gueks?
  14. Gotcha. Thanks, PAL. The form looked similar to me. What was made up in it?
  15. Could you elaborate on this point, please? I am interested in your opinion, as I don't know a whole lot about the monks.
  16. I occasionally like to break wind while sparring, just to see if I can get my opponent to wrinkle his nose!!!
  17. Ok, I was all pumped up because I am going to be elligible to test in April. However, I found out that the testing fees are not what I thought they were. I thought I was going to be able to test for 3rd dan recommended and decided for around $500 total. I found out yesterday that each testing is going to cost $400 a piece!!!!!!!! $800 to get to 3rd dan! Does this sound unreasonable to anyone else, or is it just me? How much have any of you paid for a testing?
  18. This is kind of a fun variation on push-ups that I used to do. Get a partner, and get into push-up position, facing each other. Pick a number, like 5. One person starts by doing one push-up, then the other does one, while the previous person waits in push-up postition. Then the person who started does 2, then waits while the other does 2, and so on up to 5; then, you work you way back down. It is a good drill, and it makes you hang in there and push each other.
  19. Welcome, Ashley!
  20. Yeah, you're right, Kirsty. It just kind of ate at me a little bit, you know?
  21. Football is so fickle, isn't it, Patrick? As for Huard, he has been really efficient. His numbers have not been spectacular from a fantasy or Pro Bowl stand-point, but he has done a great job of managing games, and making good decisions. Even if Green had been playing on Sunday, I don't see how the result would have been different.
  22. I was browsing around, trying to find some sledgehammer routines, when I stumbled across this: http://www.shovelglove.com/ I thought it was interesting. It looks like it could have some benefits, but it wasn't what I was looking for. It did catch my eye, though. What do y'all think?
