Remember, the basics are often times the most effective. -
Cool, thanks.

How many martial arts have you taken?
bushido_man96 replied to Patrick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I counted the 2 styles of TKD that I have done as 1, and I have also done Combat Hapkido. So that makes 2. -
As far as teaching goes, I don't know if he still does or not. I imagine he gets to from time to time, but he probably stays busier with the WCL and seminars.

You really just have to make yourself do it. Try to think of something that motivates you, and try to use it to go after your sparring partner. It will take some time to change this, because it is a part of your personality. Be patient, and continue to work at it.

The bo he used on the BOB was a competition toothpick bo. I did not break because of his "speed, skill, and strength." Simply put, it was a cheapo bo.

I think you can set up a website for free through Yahoo, or MSN, or something like that. It is pretty basic, but it should get you started.

It is never too early to teach smart money management.

I think that Coke use to be green...or so I am told. I wonder if, from a age stadnpoint, your great grandfather worked there when it was produced in green. I also heard that it used another additive before caffine too. Not sure about that though. Coke used to have cocaine in it! That kind of facilitated its name. I know what you are saying, Patrick. There are many people who will drink Coke or Pepsi interchangably, however, I cannot do it. I think Coke is sweeter, and I don't really like the flavor of Pepsi, so I don't drink it. My family will drink anything that is carbonated. If I have a type of sode lying around, like Dr. Pepper, or Coke, or something, and they have Pepsi, I won't drink their Pepsi, even if I run out of soda. However, if they run out, they will drink anything of mine. It nerves me a little!

Sounds great, Kerry!

My wife is enfatuated with Oregon. She would love to go driving all up along that coast, and see the redwoods and sequoias. I would love to take her some time.

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs. This is the sport I am the most serious about, and the rest just kind of take a back seat, other than...... NASCAR: I love stock car racing! I grew up around stock cars and dirt tracks, and my dad drove a stock car for about 5 years while I was growing up. If I had the money, I would race, much to the chagrin of my wife! As far as drivers go, I like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart, and of course, the late Dale Sr. MLB: I like to watch baseball in general..as for teams, it is the KC Royals and the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs signed Soriano for a 186 million dollar deal, now if they just get their pitching and Derrick Lee healthy, they should be golden! NCAA Basketball is fun to watch, but I don't really have a Division I team. In Division II, however, its my hometown team, the Fort Hays State University Tigers. My family and I hardly ever miss a home game. I also enjoy Tiger football and all other sports at the university as well.

Which do you like? I am a Coke guy myself.

No, its good info, Patrick. Thanks for that. I think I will look into it. I was talking to my wife about our kids and their bank accounts. I think our daughter has around $500, and I was telling my wife that we should get her a CD. They normally go around $500, and she isn't going to spend it anytime soon, so why not help her out in the long run?

Sorry to hear the, Orion. It sucks being away from family like that, especially around the holidays.

We'll have family get-togethers, with big meals, opening presents, and all the standard good stuff. I don't have to work Christmas Eve or Day, nor New Year's Eve or Day. Maybe me and the wife will actually get to have a drink this year!

I don't do any trading. No extra money to trade!

I don't know, they seem to be pretty evenly matched. It should be a good fight. -
question regarding workout, and muscle rest
bushido_man96 replied to DaChroniclez's topic in Health and Fitness
When you start up your workouts, the initial soreness will hang around longer than when you finally get acclimated to working out. So, even though you are still sore, you may still go ahead and workout. Just don't over work yourself. -
We have a channel that will rerun older fights, and it also runs a yearly reality series called The Ultimate Fighter.
