I wanted to get a life-sized tatoo of myself, but taller. That video has made the rounds here before. It is quite funny. I would like to take a look at that school, just to see....

If it doesn't feel right, do more reps...
bushido_man96 replied to gzk's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Good point; I like this analogy. I do think that one should do more and more repetitions as the technique becomes more correct. Therefore, the proper muscle memory gets ingrained. Perfect practice does make perfect, but nobody does it perfect the first time. This is a good point as well. -
Japan: Living and Training as a Westerner
bushido_man96 replied to JasonA's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
That was a GREAT article! It really clears up a lot of assumptions that are made about the differences between the way practitioners train when compared to East and West. I think that I will be referencing this article frequently. Thank you for sharing. -
Between him and Dominic Rhodes, it is getting a little crazy. The Chiefs also picked up Napolean Harris as a linebacker, so they look to be revamping that defense.

Well, I guess.................................................let's tap a keg!!!!! Hooray for PI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Mole's number!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding, guys. I thin it is cool. Math was never my specialty, but I can appreciate those who are good at it. Especially those patient tutors that helped me through my Calculus class in college....the second time around.

Realistic ninjaa???
bushido_man96 replied to circa02's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I am afraid that we may not have any accurate descriptions of the ninja. -
I have actually read his book called Black Belt Management. He has some good ideas and concepts, and has run some very successful schools. He is endorsed personally by Joe Lewis, and the two are good friends. He has some interesting concepts on the business side of the MAs, which some people may not agree with. However, you can't argue with the success that he has had. Another interesting point that he made was that he didn't charge for testings. He mainly makes his money through the regular tuition. I would recommend reading it, and taking a few ideas from him, and trying them out.

The Martial Artists' Training Log
bushido_man96 replied to bushido_man96's topic in Health and Fitness
3-15-07 I didn't do much today, but I did a little something. While I was outside with the little one, I did 100 squats, with no weight or anything. I did it in various sets, but with no weight, and they were all pretty close together. Then, I did push-ups: 25, then, when I couldn't do anymore normally, I went to my knees, and did another 25, just to make it to 50. -
thank-you Anytime! I am here to help!

First Night Of Boxing
bushido_man96 replied to cross's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
At this stage it was pretty basic(although i dont see that has being a problem, and its probably the reason why boxing footwork is so effective), but we focused on correctly moving forward, backwards, circling in both directions, throwing the jab while moving each way (strike with footwork), always returning to the correct fighting position after each movement. Very nice. That is what I would like to know that I am doing right as well. I work on punching and circling the bag, trying to make sure I am set when I punch, and the like. However, I don't do much walking backwards and punching, seeing as the bag won't follow me. -
Thanks, for clarifying, Tom.

I agree. It is important to have good form/proper technique, before going into millions upon millions of repetitons. -
Nice post, NightOwl.

How in-depth do you get into the footwork, cross? I know that it is an important aspect of boxing, and would be anxious to hear anything you have to offer. -

I finally got to see the fight between him and Hughes, where he won. That was quite the deal. He handled Hughes very well.

I don't know if it will help you out or not, but here is a thread that ran previously on running for MA training: http://www.karateforums.com/the-running-thread-vt29274.html
