  1. You can save some money if you pre-register. http://grapplers.com/store/midscreen.cfm I think it is a great tournament but depending on where you live it can cost some scratch with travel and food and the cost to compete. But you will face some great fighters.
  2. menjo what MMA tournaments did you fight in?
  3. daedelus4, It sounds like you want to do NHB fighting but you want to avoid going to the ground, so I would say a K-1 style fight would suite you well. In my opinion I do think you are simplifying the talent in the UFC. I don't think people give up their skills, I think they add to them. To be a great NHB fighter you have to have it all. Stand up and ground game. And to compare the UFC to WWE is well, a bad comparison. If you want to test your skills then what better way to do it then NHB, try to get into King of the Cage, or Rage on The Rocks. That in my eyes is the best way to see if your style can defeat what is in front of you.

  7. This is a tough one; Fight Gone Bad: The first is our famous “Fight Gone Bad” workout. In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. We’ve used this in 3 and 5 round versions. The stations are: 1. Wall-ball – 20 pound ball, 8 ft target. (Reps) 2. Deadlift high-pull 75 pounds (Reps) 3. Box Jump – 20” box (Reps) 4. Push-press 75 pounds (Reps) 5. Row – calories (Calories) The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate”, the athlete/s must move to next station immediately for good score. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower where each calorie is

  11. I have plenty more footage from this event, I just have to get it uploaded. BTW, If you click on the Pro HKD link that I posted it'll take you to the event rules & winners. Peace, BBJ That would be cool, it looks like fun.
  12. That was pretty cool, I have a question what are the rules? And why don't you guys just shoot and take your opponent down more ?, It didn't seem like it was that hard to do. Man he almost had the armbar, the guy just knew how to roll into it.
  13. Anyone on the East Coast going to Grapplers Quest next month on 9/10?
  14. I don't know about getting a bb in 3 1/2 years but a friend of mine hase this set, I think it is like 9dvds and a book and it is legit. I think it doesn't give you moves so much as it helps you pick your game. I agree with Subgrappler.
  15. for the most part I would say yeah it is uncommon IMHO, at my school it takes a while. You don't just need to know subs and sweeps, the key is transition, flow, tight tech. Positioning is key, how well do you transition from position to position. But it depends also on the person, they may excel fast. An example a friend of mine who was at my school for a long time got his blue belt, then he moved to Texas and started at Carlos Machados school and was bumped down to white again. Now that may be because Carlos wanted to do that to see where he was but it is up to the instructor to some respects.
  16. I agree with you, I know this is kinda nit picking, but a blue belt in two years?
