  3. My favorite? Monkey slap!!! No joke! It like a backfist but the hand is open. The back of your hand can really punish someones face, chest or stomach.
  4. Monkey Kung-Fu Wing Chun Kung-fu Shaolin Long Fist Kung-fu San Shou Kuai Jiao I'm still studying in all of them. So I guess I would be a white belt in all of these styles. MonkeyNinja

  9. Sparring in my school starts at white belt. It toughens up the students. But they only spar against the same belts for now. As far as compitions goes. I think they should be able to compete after a couple of months. Since their are so many differnt catagories, and age/weight groups. MonkeyNinja
  10. Short term goals: To start learning thru a different art. I'm thinking about a BudoKeshei? not quite sure how it is spelled. I've heard real good things about this school. Compete and do well in some up-coming martial arts compitions. Long term: To get to my 3rd. Dan In ninjitsu. To get certified to teach Muay Thai and kickboxing. To one day to have my own indoor dojo!!! MonkeyNinja
  11. I forgot one more thing. I know this sounds kinda crazy, but it has worked for me. Take two dowel rods about 1/2in. thick and play the drums on your shins! It fun to do while watching t.v. MonkeyNinja
  12. Yeah kicking bamboo trees, is the traditional way. But people will look at really wierd!!! When you first start kicking heavy bags use shin pads first. Sounds silly but it does help for beginners. Next use a muay thai ointment/liniment on your shins. It helps out with the pain sooo much. I do slug and kick the heavy bag a lot, at the local gym. I have learned if I kick higher where it is a little softer, and more giving it doesnt hurt as much as the lower area of the bag. MonkeyNinja
  13. Dear Ai Hate, The biggest difference between Muay Thai and Kickboxing is the techniques. Both use a variety of punches and kicks. Muay Thai allows knees, lower kicks. To the thigh, and tripping is allowed. Some clinching, and throws from the clinch are also allowed. In kickboxing, at least in full contact rules, all strikes, kicks MUST be above the waist. Foot sweeps are allowed but only to the front leg. Not he supporting leg. Other differences: Kickboxers have to where footpads, and some requires shinguards. Thai fighters don't. Kickboxers are required to where long gi or satin style pants. Thai fighters where baggy shorts. I hope this helped. And maybe this helps the one person who is intersted in starting in martial arts. 18. Comptitions locations vary. Some in a High School Gym, others are held in a hotel, etc. Girl on girl on boy doesnt necessarily always apply. I've seen several sparring between the both. I think it shouldn't matter with lower ranks. MonkeyNinja

  21. Tribal wings on both shoulders. Small Bulldog on left chest. Tiny Canadian cross on back. Wolf with barb-wire necklace. Footprints band on left thigh. Tire/Tribal design on right calf. Sea/tribal dragon on spine. Most of my tattoos are my own personal design. It takes me at least a year before I can find or draw up the right tattoo design. MonkeyNinja

  23. After studying several styles. I ahve found that is soooo much more for me to learn. When the time comes for me to start in a new style, I would have to say Capeori. It's beautiful system, and quite unique. But of the styles that I have done studying in before, I have to say that I miss Shaolin Kung Fu the most. My old sensei was great! Unfortunatly, I live 45mi. away from the nearest kung fu dojo. And I don't have a car, yet. Oh well, I feel that one day I will be able to go back to that style. MonkeyNinja
  24. I have similiar stories to yours, too many times. Guys like that think that becuase of there size thzt they "better" then anyone else. Sure you could have kneed in the groin even beat the snot out of him. But it would have got you no where. Here in Colo. all too often both kids who are fighting get suspended. Even the ones who just defended them themselves from an attacker! The best thing to do for now is simply avoid him. Really really avoid him. If it comes down to a fight make sure it's not at school, so you're not going to get in trouble with the school. Monkey
