  1. bonnor v griffin truly amazing. i saw the fight with buddies from my gym. lost of opinions 1. it was classy for the ufc to offer both of them contracts...me i think it was good busness. if the ufc didnt pride would. 2.mixed opinions on frank being worked.... some say hes done, some say it was fixed to hype franklin(who i think is a good fighter), i just think the guy slipped and got caught ..it happens ...if he would have got that heal hook we would be singing a different tune.
  2. i sparred james toney, i cant stress enough how tough he was. and he was being nice.
  3. sorry it took so long to get back to you. if you hand is already behind your back you better start taping. when you first feel the attach ( or when he is scrableing to get you down you can sometimes work it) make sure you anckor you hand in front of you.( grab your belt or clothes) then work into gaurd and go from there
  4. i have done 3 years of highschool wrestling. 12 years of boxing, 4 years tkd, 3years karate, 2 years muay tai, 2years bbj. i have had to move around alot because of the military so i could not always get the kinda school i wound want but some training is beter than none. as a fighter i would consider myself a thai boxer. (i hold my hands closer to my chin as apposed to high) cause i like to punch.
  5. join a local muay tai gym. if you want less rules go to a place that does nhb. alot of muay tai guys cross train in nhb type stuff so they can put you in the right direction. advantage to ring fights 1. good quality of fighters 2. you are not legally responsible 3. on site doctors (or al least access to medical attention) all though it may sound thrilling at first (the fight club) you may find that ou really dont want to fight week. i dont really feal right for about a week or more after a fight. (unless its a quick win)
  6. show me a drug with no sideeffects.... i will show you a drug that doesnt work
  7. before i was converted into the cult of the true bielievers (started muay tai and bbj) i went to a tkd school (earned black belt). so i was in the habit of bowing when i walk in. if im not thinking about it...i will absent mindedly bow when i walk in.....trained like palovs dog......about to train ...must bow. most of the time i catch myself and no one sees .....when i dont the rest of the guys start bowwing at me saying "yes danyo son...if yo respect yo onsestyo ...yo will learn much....asho"
  8. hells bells acdc more human than human rob zombee luintic fringe bad company song bad company crazy train ozzy tom sauer i use different song to change my mood. some to pump be up some to bring me down if i feal im getting too hyper
  9. the ufc has been going on for 10 years other mmas longer. how come the other tma come out and trained harder.....no the serious ones adapted boxing, muay tai, wresting and bbj. btw fought a judo guy...i could beat him on the ground but getting there sure was an unpleasesnt ride.(i was tossed).so iwould love to learn a little judo. never meet a soft stylist who could fight full contact well. they all have there place. looks like fun, forms are pagents of athletism and grace. when i get to old to bang shins i will probalbly take up a kung fu to stay in shape but head to head tma dont cut it. PS i have lost to a tma but only cause he was a much beter athelete. way bigger. he did well dispite his style.
  10. on tyson ..lost of power puncher suffer hand injuries. its not cause they have been conditioed to the glove...its cause they hit hard.
  11. i was at a seminar by maurice smith when he warned three times about going to hard to some idividuals. finally he went off on them.
  12. i agree. i didnt realize you were refering to plyos. i do my plyos with bw too. (most of the time)
  13. listen to the star. just step everything up. find out if you have a same day wiegh in or day before weigh in. are you close to wieght
  14. yes im sure they are out there. we had one in our high school wrestling gym. good tool. i think...i never used it but in high school some kid (ethan bosh) from another school quit playing football to focus on wrestling. supposidly he drilled on that dummy all year. then he walked threw state
  15. i have competed in other mma venues but never the major leages. probably wont i am merely a hobbiest, but the competition keeps me young. i have a real job that pays extremely well
  16. technique beats strenghth everytime thats just what instuctors try to sell wimps (and wimpettes) who just got sand kicked in there face. i am going to make an anology. take a nascar race. the car is your phiscial skills the driver is your technique. in the best car a a lousy driver (me!) would get worked in a go cart .... jeff gordon wouldnt stand a chance. you need technique as well as some physicallity now i advocate developing them both. at least to the best of your ability. you cant put in what god left out.
  17. holy cow that acually works!!! tryed it on my dog...he ran for the hills ...nieghbors dogs ....."yo im out" told my friend who checks meters two days latter he said not one dog didnt run. i guess there doggy brain has no clue what that is
  18. saotone while bodywiegt excercises are good. i do them when im traveling, for light days most lift you should progress beyond your bodywieght. also your body has no idea if you are using your bodywieht or not. all it knows is that it is external resitance. if you are doing a pull up or or using the cable your body does not know the difference. anonomus one i was with you all the way...but then you lost me. what about the king of the jungle THE SQUAT and his little brother the deadlift
  19. agreed, also if i block a head kick the guy who threw it is usssaully in trouble. real easy to throw combo of blocked head kick. easy to catch. me i throw head kicks in only three situations 1. just caught a leg and am passing it. 2. qwick and light tkd style ...mainly to set up other stuff 3 they are begging for it (hands down in my leg range)
  20. btw chalk is a much better idea. why dint i think of that
  21. 3 weeks ago i had a guy come at me with a knike. most fights can be avoided. but this was strange. guy was talking with his girl and i was cutting across lot. this guy says come hear. i thought he was just asking for help. so i started tward him. it was dark and at about 3 feet away i heard him pop open a lock blade. he was trying to hide it i dindt see it until he slashed it. i jumped back and ran. if he would have had a sheth knife that didnt make a sound i would be dead. my best self defense is that im an extemely fast runner. 10.8 in 100 at the age of 32 strangly enough i have a hand gun which i can legally carry on me at the time. not worth the legal trouble. he never even asked me for money or anything. my first and hopfully last experience with a crazy. ussaly when people get involved in violence the kinda asked for it but i would have been an "innocent victim" have done the majic marker thing at the gym. that set of cloths in no good no more. two things to do if you must fight 1. step in and grap 2 grap after swing 3 never let it go, dont stop if your bleeding, minimize his damage to you. 4dont try to take him out with out control. few people have one shot knock out power.( sorry debate me if you must but please dont trust it, this is life and death, i might be wrong and you got knock out power ....but if im right your dead. 5 dont srtike or kick trying to pop it out ther hand. if they turn ther wrist (on purpose or reflex you might end up missing fingers, sliced tendons or worse. but mainly run and call local law enforcement....its what they are paid to do
  22. i once worked out with a guy from russia. in his country he said that training was illegal if not sactioned by the state. so they would go into the woods at night to train. we started to do that (start at five in the morning. at any park i doub that you would have any trouble from spectaters at this time. At first it seemd strange but as time went on it was very enjoyable, serine and peaceful.it was sureal to hear birds chirping and rabbit nearby as we dealt violence out oppon one another.
  23. nothing proves your masculinity like killing a defenseless animal. i have hunted deer, boar, rabbit, turkey( will never do that again with a gun, all camoed up pretending to sound like a turkey, great way to get shot).quail, phesent, prarrie chicken (wont do that again cause i once mistook a hen phesent for one and killed it). duck, goose, and dove dove is my favorete cause they are kinda hard to hit and the shooting is frantic. i eat everything i kill. bow hunt i have gotten dear and turkey. i use an m 14 for hunting rifle and a browning shotgun that belonged to my grandfather
  24. heavy lifting high intensity short duration inceases test levels and growth hormone. but then again so does sleeping
