  1. What works inside the ring , works outside the ring as well , if u are able to hook ur opponent down to the ground in a tournament , imagine what that will do to him Bare-knuckled Yeah , 100% true , thatz where inring fighting is important
  2. What the guys said is true , beside , u do not have to compete in professional bouts , try local and international amateur level tournaments first and if u are not satisfied with that then u can fight professionally . you'll be surprised of how hard an amateur tournament can be
  3. Hi all , It's been six month since I ever visited KF , six month since I ever trained in martial arts . Now that am back to training, I decided to rejoin KF .. Any way , My name is Alexander , I've been doing Kyokushin Karate since I was 14 years old (now I am 23) ,I've also done Muay thai and kickboxing(brown belt KB) however , I have recently started boxing and I love it ... KF was one of the best MA sites when I left it , am sure I will have a lot of knowledge here , thx in advance ..
  4. Quit training ,lol .. Seriously , there is nothing wrong with it just don't take it too far
  5. Hello Wow , after 4 month that topic survives It's vital for a martial artist to be in a REAL fight NOT sparring from time to time , don't you agree ?? I mean , I know martial arts are all about discipline ,however , one must have the inring and the real fight experience .. By the way , even if you are a black belt and if you are well prepared , if you don't have inring experience , a lower rank with more experiience would easly win the macth , same goes for real fights , osu

  12. Just our dojo as far as i know , but other dojos are incorprating kick & thai techniques (and grappling) one way or another , hek , I know an instructor who registred his style as kyokushin muay thai ( sounds silly , I know )
  13. Hi guys , back (@ least online ) I understand that , and because kyokushin is budo , I like to compete , kyokushin's competition is 1) hard; 2) helps building spirit; 3) gives you confidence; 4) gives you a real view of what strike can do to you and to your opponent; 5) you can't just pick a random guy and kick the he^^ out of him in the street to test ur karate , thats against the purpose of martial arts , but you can do so in comeptition ; 6) all the greats in kyokushin competed in their 20's , ask Matsui or Midori ; 7) I really enjoy kumite I am thinking of it Well , no offense to any one but I don't think I'll love some girl from an african country - again no offense -

  16. Hello I don't know if this should be in the general chat or in the general martial arts , any way .. Remember my last post about me moving to a new country ? that was about 20 days ago , well , my flight is tomorrow . I have many things going on my head & that’s natural since I am moving from one environment to another completely different one . But there are two questions that I can't find an answer for : 1- I was trained from the first day I ever stepped into the dojo at age 14 (now I am 22) to the last training session ( which was yesterday ) to FIGHT , to win competitions , now , as a fighter I am on my prime , I've been in 3 international tournaments this year alone , placed 2nd and 3rd in two of them , I've done pretty well in all the national competitions that I've been to , and now , I have to stop all that , not because I want to , it's because there is no kyokushin out there , I keep on asking myself what’s the point of training alone if I am not to put myself under test and compete ? I find it hard to accept that I am not going to compete anymore . 2- ( that should be in the general chat ) There is that girl that I like a lot , I’ve been going out with here for 2 month now and I really like her , I've never had feelings for any other girl the way I feel for her , and I know she feels the same & I want her to be mine for ever BUT since I am leaving tomorrow & I will be away for at least one year , well , I can't promise her of anything right now cause I haven't done any major achievement on the financial side... I am really confused on what to do , I really like her but I don't want to bound her to me with just words .. Thx in advance Mark

  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.... I couldn't stop laughing , and the funniest part was when he got up and tried to resume the show HAHAHAHAHAHA
  22. Not me
  23. First of all , kicks with full power to the head are perfectly allowed in kyokushin , second , we do not live in a close world anymore and matches between different styles/schools are getting more popular day after day , therefore it's rare to c and advanced kyokushin karateka who has never fought in kickboxing format , lots of kyokushin dojos are incorporating some kickboxing in their training to complete that small missing piece in kyokushin ( facial hand strikes ) , for instance , we have a kumite training session on Sundays were we allow hand strikes to the head and grappling ( we wear MMA gloves ) .
