  1. On reading about that I'd think you'd best go and see a doctor - better to be safe than sorry!
  2. When you breathe out as you strike it will be stronger. Other than that I don't think my class has any other special rules on breathing - just remember to keep doing it! I'd also mention breathing in through your nose and out of your mouth, as a couple of previous posts say.
  3. Watch any stress levels too, and how relaxed or tense you are mostly, as these sort of things can contribute to an irregular heartbeat.
  4. Well I have kickboxing training tonight, and in two weeks we're grading. I will be going for my purple belt - and I was wondering if anyone had any advice they could share for help in gradings.
  5. Sorry to hear that. Don't worry, loss and death is something we all must experience, but your friend is somewhere much better now.
  6. Welcome. It's all friendly and good here.
  7. I agree, it will be much better for your Grandparents when they stop. If you can, go outside or something when they smoke so you don't breathe it in. The reason they smoke I'm guessing is because they are chemically addicted, it's much harder to quit when you're addicted. But I'm supporting you and if your Grandma wants to quit I'm sure she will.
  8. Hey hasn't anyone heard of stone fist before?
  9. My dreams are varied but lately, any dreams I've had have taken place at night time in abandoned warehouses or chemical plants. But I've also had really nice dreams in the past and when I wake up from these dreams I feel happy and at peace.
  10. I have my ways of thinking, but no real motto that I use individually.
  11. I think my mum uses inscence sticks sometimes to make the living room smell a lot better, and they do smell really nice.
  12. Hehe I think I was kidding when I said I'd try the kissing thing.
  13. You might have experienced it before. My Aikido class has a lot of younger members. I'm 15, the top age for my current class, so when I'm 16 I'll go to the older group. How do you react if training partners are lazy? They don't try; make partner work difficult; don't really respect you - - it doesn't happen all the time, just tonight I had to put up with it. And I don't like it, so what should I do if I end up with someone like this?
  14. I'm interested, although I'm still in high school...maybe I could if it happens in a few years. Hehe, you know I was thinking about posting this sort of thing in another forum once. It's a great idea, we should go ahead with it.
  15. Erm do you want a new punchbag? Sorry, I don't know any specific sites, but you could try any local store, they shouldn't be too expensive.
  16. My experience is weird. Well I'm 15 and some girls like me, some don't. But I have this weird thing with one of the prettiest, kindest (etc.) girls in the school, and I have no problem talking to her, even when we're alone! It's weird because some less pretty girls aren't interested in me, it just shows how people are different. Personally I'm not into many girls, nor am I a ladies man. I just go after really attractive popular pretty girls that most other guys think that they're too low in standards to go out with. Talking to the opposite sex has something to do with a load of weird subconscious beliefs you aren't even aware of.... . Confidence or not, it comes from mental blocks and people telling you things like you can't do it. The thing is you should remind yourself that you can do it and it's easy to get the girl / boy you want. If you think you can do it, then you will. Lol, I'm going to try that...has it actually worked for anyone?
  17. It sounds interesting. So I take it that the food isn't too hard to obtain - I just want to follow a nutrition programme where the food you eat is easy to get hold of. Oh and what training programmes are there in the regime besides weights? Thanks. I want to start following this quite soon so I can change my physical condition and fitness around 180 degrees, that's why I'm being so curious.
  18. Hehe this thread is really good to read. Okay, well the following isn't exactly a quote, it's just part of something I read once, but it really makes sense. "Your thoughts are magical. Thoughts are powerful forces of energy. Thoughts create everything you want in life. Thoughts can even create the things you don't want. Thoughts can only come from your mind - and you are the only person in charge of your own mind. So you create the thoughts that create the circumstances of your life. Since your thoughts create your reality - you create your reality. [...] Your thoughts are picked up by your subconscious mind - an incredible power that will create anything you tell it. Your instructions to your subconscious mind are your thoughts. Your subconscious doesn't know good from bad. It doesn't know right from wrong. It only follows your instructions - which are your thoughts. [...] The first thing you need to do is pay attention to your thoughts. Catch yourself thinking. Analyze your thoughts - listen to what you are thinking. Then decide if these are good thoughts, bad thoughts or needless thoughts. Decide if these thoughts work for you or against you. I can assure you that 90-percent of the thoughts you have either serve no purpose or work against you. If this is the case - you need to change them and consciously insert new thoughts - thoughts that will work for you and create the life you want." -Karim Hajee.
  19. I'd say Karate or Kickboxing are very well heard of if you are in the UK like me.
  20. Adrenaline rushes are a natural reaction to immediate danger, or so I've heard. They give you the extra push to run or fight. Personally I try to stretch every day after a warmup (there's a cool Shotokan kata called sinchin which warms your muscles from the inside). If you stretch everyday your flexibility will improve greatly.
  21. Yeah I've seen the regime, and I want to follow it badly. Unfortunately my Mum says I'm too young for it and I shouldn't be doing that sort of thing at 15. My Dad thinks it's too aggressive. So I'll have to wait, and eat how I think is right in the meantime. But seriously, to anyone who has or is following it, how good and effective is it? Is the diet plan hard to obtain or stick to? What are the exercises like?
  22. Oh...now I get it. Eugh.
  23. There are losers in a lot of places who make fun of people, probably because they don't know how annoying they're being. Of course, even if you are popular there will be those who wish you harm - and I'd recommend you ignore them, at least never to give them a reaction, which is what they want. I think I know how you feel GhostFighter as I once felt like that. If you stay calm you'll be glad when you calm down later.
  24. It depends slightly on his build, fitness, etc., or how big he actually is. But if a big fat guy gets on top of you he does have the advantage - especially if you can't escape.
  25. Hello there. I'm new here too.
