Just a curiostity thing, I've seen pictures already of several Isshinryu guys with Red and white belts. I'm just wondering why is that higher than black. and also what's behind the red and white belt I've seen people like Dale Jenkins and Don Nagle and the like wearing. Why is it Higher than black?

Title says it, I'm trying to find a pink belt, just something more of a joke, when people ask what belt I am, and I have my gear bag, I'll just tell them pink, pull out the belt and show them. I've Contemplated buying a red belt and putting my white belt in with the red belt through the wash. But I need my white belt and I'm not about to wash the belt that I use.

You need to take a pack of cards in the box. Hold it about a half an inch above the back of someones head. Make parrure that the edge is running paralell the head. Then tap the pack pretty hard, thus making your still hand hit some one. this hurts. My Grandfather did it to me when I turned 16.

Hey guys, I'm just a little bit frustrated, i started Isshinryu to work on losing wieght and did too little too late. I hade results alreaddy happening but my gall bladder conked out on my beginning of the week. Lost the muscle tone I had started developing. the surgeon I talked to me a bout it, I says I'll have to wait at least a month before I can get back into it again.....IT JUST ISN'T FAIR!!!1 If you read this, thanx for listening and letting me vent

When I was younger I used to study Tae Kwon Do. I'd like to get back into it, how ever I'd like to go back to my old instructors. Going back about 12, maybe 10 years ago. Central Jersey area, has any body heard of Frank Capolla, or Jim Kramer? I know that Frank was the Owner/President of American Tae Kwon Do Association. I also know that they went 1st friday of each month to study with Grand Master Duk Sung Son in New York City. I also know that Frank had connections with a man named Ted Hilton in Maryland. If any body has any info or knows any thing aobut these men, please send a pm, I'm realy curious and would like to get back to my roots where I originally started as well as continue with Issinryu. I've been trying the thing about focusing on pulling my hand back as fast as possible. That actually feels like I'm doing something better than before. Thank Isshinryu5, I guess i'll feel like it's almost perfect the more I practice over and over on my journey to black belt.

Isshinryu. They Punch with there fist vertical, not horizontal, I'm sure quite a few of you know this. Thing is, I feel like my punches are extremely weak, slow and ineffective. I know I'm still new at this, how ever is there any advice to work on my technique? Thank you

Goju, it's a tough thing to get in front of a group, you might want to hide a little bit. Make sure you're standing infront of everybody, and when you go to remind every body that there thumbs should be down, quickly jump right next to someone and check there thumbs. some what sloppy but it's worked in some situations. You just have to trust your misdirection
