  1. Yes a single leg will work but, I sugest that you keep at least one arm up to protect your face, shoot with your head to the outside of the persons leg that you are attacking and shoot from very close in. I am not recomending take downs as part of a street fight or shooting with out some other strikes but if the person is not on their toes the shoot will work just fine, just not my cup of tea.
  2. Why not monkey or monkey staff or crushing dragon or mantis or a combo or all of the known animal styles? My favorite is the Butterfly finds stinger under snake moon. This will beat drunken kung fu 24/7 with toes tied to fingers.
  3. Hey as a F.I.G.H.T. instructor aand with Tai and other systems I have robbed from knees from the clinch can be extremely devestating but, one must be careful of their balance, and positioning so not to be taken down and or kneed and or uppercutted. In most cases if you are agressive enough you will be the only one shooting the knees and elbows and headbuts
  4. Yes Muy Tai and BJJ or Tai and Ground Chin-NA this should cover hands elbows knees shins and ground work
  5. Whipchains yeh, how about a frag grenade, or better a suicide chicken wearing a bomb belt trained to attack your attacker or, a pack of man eating rats, yeh.
  6. Two rounds in the midsection and fold him over then 1 to the head
  7. hey that is just the way I feel, do it like nike.
  8. just pound'em, that seems to work as well.
  9. Yeh in most cases, if the legs dont work he cant chase ya.
  10. I think that you will find JKD to be much more satisfying that the old hum drum Karate, I only hope you find an open minded and good teacher.
  11. Lee was the best that Lee could be, to say he was better than everyone else was and still is a very large thing to say, I say again I think he was great and I am glad for his teachings, but he did not fight every fighter in the fighting world so who is to say he was the best. I say again that he was the best that he could be and better than most he met.
  12. Ok I have seen some good advice in here now heres my attempt. Mixed martial arts with an emphisis on steet combat, in practice you must show some control but it is the mentality I am speaking of, no you dont want to pluck your partners eye out but train with the understanding that this is what you would do in that situation, train safely but train not with points and rules in mind train to destroy your opponent in the street. This does not mean every thing you do is to kill but be prepared to do so if it is needed, only you will know when that would be, if you were wrong then you are alive and maybe in jail, or you may be dead, if you were right the same things could still happen. Read the news daily in both small and large cities and you will see that life is not a game. Train hard, train real, fight for life God gave it to you let only he take it away.
  13. Hey for you dog lover, which I am one, Georgia House Bill 78 will make it illegal to own a Pit bull or any of its family members if it pass's into law. So if you think this is a stupid bill then go to georiagov.com of something like that and hollar real loud. Today it may be the bully breeds tommorrow who knows! Think of it this way, if they do it in GA why not your state
  14. And sir I will be more careful on my post not to leave any openings for others to exploit.
  15. Hey Roy you are a pretty bad dude huh? But just for conversation lets say it was another skilled fighter, ground or mma or just a well trained san shou fighter, would it be so easy then? I know that most people are not trained but in real life you have to think about the what if. In San Shou that is one of the things you learn is to prevent the shoot since that is part of the sport, in the all so popular BJJ again prevent when someone is shooting or take advantage, so I have no doubt that you can and probably have shot in on many trained and untrained but with the possibility of accidentaly facing against Randy Coutour (or any or the great fighters out there training others) or one of his students do you think this should be your first plan of attack. Or maybe you are just that good, in that case where are you located and are you excepting students because I would like to train with you for a while.
  16. Oh yea and just for the record I am not saying that the sidekick will not work it is just one of many things that may work, for me the side kick is not the easist thing to do when my intention is to go into a clinch or a modified straight blast. That also brings up another problem with so many who train just for the sport of kicking (point fighting) is that they are not used to driving through an attacker, to many practice their snap kicks all the time and never train to go for destructive kicks, which is fine for sport but does not transfer over very well in the street. It is my opinion that to many kick with there instep for sport but never condition their shin for the more damaging kicks that can delivered and need to be delivered in a street confrontation. Ya'll already know the foot like the hand has to many little bone to be truely safe as a full contact weapon with the exception of a few who may train just for this, I will let just about anyone attack my thighs with the instep but will not say the same about the shin, I know there are a few who could snap my leg but they are few and far between compared to the number of point fighter out there, my point is teachers and students should train there more effective weapons for the Martial end of Martial Arts and not confuse sport with reallity. MY opinion and I really believe these to be true.
  17. xxducati998xx, nice bike, but cross train, it is your opinion that a side kick is better but thats all, hey we all have our own opinions but not all TKD schools teach the push kick, and I think it is a very effective kick but, your situation will dictate if a side kick is the most stratigicly sound kick in a street situation. Cross train with grapplers, Tai fighters, stick and knife guys and you will see the world is large and what seems to be the total answer now will be sometime just a one of many good ideas later, and for the TKD people out there I am not thrashing TKD but like most if not all traditional styles or systems it has its weakness's and it faults, it is just my belief to train with others is to broaden your horizens and to be better educated and informed. From a open mind and bigger book of knowelge to pull from you will find the things that fit you best and be able to help other more effectivley.
  18. Thank you Master ovine, that is why my head always hurt. Your humble student street fighter
  19. I have never trained in "dim mak" so I will reserve my comments to only what I have trained in and those I have trained with. Maybe some of the vital strikes I have done would be considered Dim Mak but I only know them as vital strikes or soft targets but, I am curious to why no one uses them in MMA. You and I both know that if twenty people learn this art of Dim Mak that at least 1 would try and capitalize on it, so not to be hateful but still question what I do not understand, "wheres the beef". I have trained with different folks and have yet to find the "death touch" even though I know if I strike the neck hard enough it could kill or the temple or the sternum but maybe thats the problem we do call them Dim MAk we just call the soft targets and are aware of the possible dangers. Looking forward to your response, and I am not trying to be an * just I really am doubtful of some of the socalled MA's out there.
  20. Hey Roy I was just in Tn yesterday, but do you think going to the ground on purpose is a good thing in a street fight with the other guy possible having some heavy booted friends around? I can only say that if I have to ever defend myself against a grappler in the street that I have more friends than he because if this is the case I will win, or at least go home in better contition. It has been said that the one who will win a street ground fight is the one whos friends get there first. I know this is not always the way it works but to be honest I do not want to roll on the ground unless there is just no other choice, this may come in the form of a better striker beating me to everything I can do or I trip and or am taken down. The street is not the training hall and the rule change greatly when the rules are gone.
  21. Im glad those folks dont do MMA compititions and disrupt the flow of someones charka.
  22. with two hands I try and keep one free for striking or for defense, but when I get in close enough I prefer the elbow strikes.
  23. Kicks in fights are best "in my unhumble opinion" below the waist, hips down to the toes, and like the Tai fighters I belive more effective with a trained shin, one big bone verses lots of little bones of the foot. Taken the knee out is good but most would not be able to stand if kicked solidly in the thigh inside or out "oh the thigh". Wearing shoes helps when doing foot kicks to the legs just be careful not to miss because you will probably be in your opponents arm reach and might get clobbered. I prefer kicks from my Tai and JKD training, they are simple and effective and most people are not looking for the low shots. If you doubt the pain of good thigh kicks get some twelve year old to kick you and see how it feels when they do it much less if it was a trained Tai fighter, which you dont have to be to be able to deliver strong effective kicks.
  24. What happens if you bow and he kicks you in the face? Dim Mak is that what they call the death touch?
