  1. I can shoot a gun from behind my back and lasso the bullet before it hits the person between the eyes. And I will be glad to demonstrate this on anyone here, any volunteers?
  2. The granby kicker escape http://www.wrestlingsbest.com/photos/zh51.jpg This escape is new to me, does anyone know this about this move?
  3. On rare occasion I’ve witness an instructor telling a student not to take a promotion test because they weren’t ready for advancement to the next belt level. But I’ve never seen someone actually fail a test for a higher belt. Now I have seen many people fail to win a championship belt in the ring. So which belt do you think means more, the black belt that almost anyone can get if they apply themselves long enough or a belt that says middleweight champion of Minnesota (or where ever)?
  4. I’m going to hi-jack this thread. All that a colored belt means is that you have paid your fees and put in your time. If you want a belt that is worth something, you have to win it in the ring or octagon.
  5. Every time I read about breaking necks on a public forum it sends shivers down my spine. Discussing how to break necks on a public forum will most likely lead to one teenager breaking another teenager’s neck by accident. And it is absolutely unnecessary to have this knowledge in order to defend one’s self on the street. But obviously people aren’t going to stop posting this information.
  6. In the ancient Olympics it wasn’t uncommon for both the winner and loser in pancrease(sp?) to have broken fingers at the end of a match. Yes finger/thumb locks are useful but are unlikely to win a fight for you against a determined foe, best not to base your self-defense strategy on them.
  7. The switch is a wrestling move that is a very slick and is perfect for when you’re on the ground and someone has your back. There are several variations of the switch including at least one stand up version. This is the variation that I use the most. http://www.wrestlingsbest.com/photos/zh40.jpg
  8. List of Confirmed Cougar Attacks In the United States and Canada 1991 - 2000 http://users.frii.com/mytymyk/lions/attacks2.htm
  9. To read the whole story, scroll to the bottom of the page. http://www.chainreaction.com/squirrels.htm
  10. Bigger bodies = bigger heads Bigger heads = more massive heads More massive heads = more punishment can be absorbed by head Know what I mean?
  11. So this thread won’t deteriorate any further, I’ll stop posting on it.

  13. You can’t believe in both science and mysticism at the same time. They’re metaphysical opposites. And you are one that seems to be threatened, JMHO.
  14. I’m expressing my opinion. I never said that you can’t. I’m not and I don't see why you insist that I am. Well I believe in science and you believe in mysticism.
  15. Because one explanation gives a truer understanding of how and why something works and the other explanation doesn’t.
  16. I’m sure looking forward to the spring bear hunt. I use bait and shoot them from a tree stand with a bow, anyone else?
  17. OR Modern medicine Or Ancient Chinese witch doctoring. The method is the same, different explanation as to why it works though.
  18. That’s how I was taught. The important thing to remember is that when breathing, it’s more important to get the CO2 out of your lungs than O2 in (little breaths in, big breaths out), that’s why breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth works. And you want to breathe out while exerting yourself, like when you strike.
  19. Add to that, free-style wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling and boxing.
  20. One time I was sparring and I was in the guys guard and he had a collar choke on me. Since I’m not bad a passing the guard I ignored the choke and managed to get the mount. Once I mounted him I was able to peal his hands away and break the choke. I then excused myself and when to the washroom to puke. I always tap out now.
  21. I’ve fought one of his guys once and had a private lesson from him afterwards, Mike Miles is good.
  22. Hey shodan97 I just notice that you list wrestling as one of your styles. Talk to your wrestling coach, he will be a bigger help that I can.
  23. Bring your elbows down and to your side squeezing their arms under your armpits and turn out from him quickly (shuck). You will be using the strength of your back against the strength of his arms. If you can place your forehead against the ground or a wall this will give your head support as you break out of the full nelson. If someone just try’s to hold you with a nelson you should be able to break out of it, nelsons are rather weak holds. Remember that the different nelson holds are not meant to actually hold a person, but rather are to be used to turn the person and as such, are only meant to be a temporary hold.
