Today I'm going for the first time to the class so I'm very excited. I will keep you posted when I know more about ninjutsu Thanks to all for their opinions!
-
I think Im going to go with ninjutsu, I just have to visit the dojo to see the class, But from the pics I have seen on the web page I think its going to be a good class, I've seen they go to a very big place outside the city with trees all over and they practice there sometimes (the page said that) I think it will be good. what do you think?

I have considered Muay Thai but I've really had bad experiences with the Dojos I've been, they liked being in stupid fights in clubs and talking as if they are tough and I dont like that. Im not saying I want to get on my knees and bow to everyone all the time but in this dojos they all behaved like kids.

Hi all, I am looking to study MA's again after 4 months and I'm finding it very difficult, I'm looking for a MA which combines speed and cardio (because I want to be toned and fit), I loved doing boxing because I felt a lot of energy and I got in very good shape, but I also want to find an art very good for self defense. So long I've looked at Ninjutsu, Kali and Krav Maga, but I dont know if they will get me in shape too, and Ninjutsu uses a lot of weapons as well as kali but I don't know if that is usefull for self defense due to the fact that ppl dont walk around with swords or sticks so I really don't know which one to pick, please help me with this and if you know of other styles that have what I want tell me thx

BJJ vs Judo
MFGQ replied to b3n's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
Judo depends too much on clothing, most of their throws are using the gi, and as in the street you dont use a gi then you will have just a couple of throws you can do with a t shirt, BJJ uses take downs that can be used in the street and you have better control in the ground, even without a gi. -
I have been talking to a guy who has done both and is VERY good in both, I asked him which one was better for a confrontation in the street and he told me that even though a BJJ practitioner could maybe finish a wrestling guy on the floor that a wrestler focuses on putting your back to the floor and then striking you, so he says that a wrestler has the advantage, In my opinion Jiujitsu seems better for self defense because it uses less strenght what do you think? Maybe this is for Comparative Arts but both are grappling arts so....

Best Grappling Art for Self-Defense?
MFGQ replied to MFGQ's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
there r a lot of votes for BJJ, its a really good MA for 1 on 1 but what happens if there's more than 1 attacker? u cant go to the ground with the first one because the rest will stomp u, I want you to consider that too, it is for self defense so anything is fair. I personally think that aikido or judo would be really good because of the throws and because aikido also trains with knifes and sticks. -
A few days ago I got into this website which basically said they could turn u in the best fighter in any Martial Art. I want you to take a look and tell me what you think, I think its unbelievable and if its true then it would be something we should all know. here's the web page: http://www.topsecrettraining.com/combat.html

I wanted to know your opinion about which grappling art would be best for self defense and their differences. Im a little confused, Ive practiced Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and really dont see much difference between it and Japanese Jiu-jitsu, im sure there's at least one just dont know. I wanted to know why is it that no UFC, PRIDE, etc fighters use aikido? ive heard it is really good for defense.

Hey i wanted to know your opinion about girls and martial artists, in my own experience i have found that some girls really dont like martial artists that much, they think we are too violent and that sort of think thanks for the answers

I dont want you to think that im an alcoholic it is just to know and maybe to change my lifestyle for better, thank you for your answers

You say that a couple wont do me any wrong but is that the number that one can drink, just 2, what will happen if i get messed up once a month and how much will it affect my trining? or it doesnt matter if i just do it ocassionally ?
-
I just wanted to ask a quick question, is alcohol bad for a martial artist? because i feel that when i drink i lose some muscle and i dont feel with the strenght that i have been the day before. And if it is really bad, how much is ok to drink? thanx

I wanted to know what do you think about this "style" and if you think it is effective ?
-
It does'nt really depend on weather the person is short or tall, it does'nt matter, it depends on the person and how good is he or she defending himself. Remember Bruce Lee was only 5'7 and he was one of the best.

Hi all, i wanted to know what was your opinion in this 3 MA that for me are 3 of the best MA for self defense. I wanted to know which one was the best for you thanks for you answers

I practiced capoeira a year ago for about 5 months, and i loved it, all the flexibility and quickness was great. But what i was looking as any MAist was to be able to protect myself in the street with what i was learning, but i wasnt that convinced, and a lot of friends told me it was just a dance, so i wanted to ask, is it really just a dance? or could it be used as a self defense system? thank you for your answers

I think that Wanderlei silva is one of the best fighters and if there was a unification he would win both chuck "the iceman" liddel and Randy "the natural" Couture, but i am really a very big fan of Vitor Belfort (the old) because i dont know what happens to him in some fights :S. But if he could be as explosive as he was he would be the BEST!
-
I really dont know that much about Hung Gar, i have been told it is a very strong style and doesnt have much kicks, but thats just what i have heard, if anyone has more info on the style it would be great. While i have seen some videos on Wing Tsun and have seen it is a really explosive, very quick with the hands style, but i dont know much on it either. :S

What art is better for street fighting?
MFGQ replied to Sinar89's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I think the best styles for street fighting are Krav Maga and Wing Chun. -
Hi, I have done a lot of MA in my young life, but i wanted to do Kung Fu for a long while, I have looked up for schools in my area and i have found two that are the ones that convince me more, one teaches Hung Gar and the other teaches Wing Tsun, i really don't know that much about them and wanted your advice on which should I study, I am looking for self defense by the way. thanx

Best for UFC/MMA?
MFGQ replied to MMACHAMP's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
When Royce Gracie started in the UFC he brought a new system, the BJJ, he was invincible, but now that lots of people know about it, it is not so invincible now, i think you should have a balance between ground fighting and stand-up fighting, i think that MT and BJJ would be a killer combo, and most of the fighters in UFC do this, now you HAVE to know some ground fighting or you will be lost
