  1. I love a girl that can protect me
  2. You did'nt fail as a martial artist, but remember that in a dojo you are just training, my sensei always tells me that you can't get mad inside de dojo with the people you train because they are your friends, you are there to train and become better, so that in the street you can protect yourself. You are not there to get mad at some cocky guy, and your sensei should have told him to quit doing what he was doing instead of beating him, he will never learn that way. You need to have respect with the people you train, we always thank everyone when we finish because they make us better persons.
  3. UFC fighters are more complete than K1 fighters, they have to know a lot of grappling because it is allowed while in K1 it is not and the fighters can just concentrate in stand up fighting. But I think it all depends on the strategy each fighter uses. I have seen many fights ending on the floor in UFC but also a lot that ended before they could strat grappling. Depends on the fighter
  4. But if you r fighting against someone who is trying to really hurt you, you should do it, it is very effective in self defense and you could run afterwards and he wont be able to follow
  5. wrist locks are the most easy and a good way to control your opponent, a naked choke is very effective but it is hard to get on your opponent's back.
  6. Aikido is one of the most effective martial arts for controlling someone agressive and it is used by a lot of countries by the police and military forces
  7. I think that you are trying to beat them with strenght, you wont be able to do it unless you go to the gym 24/7 and get the same weight as they, i would recomend to try to win them with TECHNIQUE! it is the best way to go. My BJJ instrucotor is no more than 5'6 or 5'7 and he always beats huge guys, it's all because he has his technique so perfect that he doesnt need strenght. Is'nt it why we all do martial arts? to make things easier when fighting anyone. technique will always beat strenght. Next time try to focus on your technique instead of trying to beat him with force. Thats my advice.
  8. Hi to all!! I have a problem, i am now practising goju ryu karate, but i wanted to practice another martial art to compliment it, i was thinking on something like brazilian jiu jitsu, but my sensei told me that i should do a martial art good and then when i have experience then try other martial arts to help me develop some skills but have like a principal martial art and others to compliment it... what do you think about that?
  9. which 2? and i dont know i can do that, because i dont have enough time
  10. Hi to everyone! I have a problem, i have done several martial arts, some of them for a long time like shotokan karate for 7 years and some for just a while to see how they were like, right now i am practising goju-ryu karate, but a lot of friends that are doing muay thai or BJJ tell me to go to practice with them, i would like that a lot, but i want what is more effective as a self defense and right now i really dont know what to do. thank you!
  11. I think everyone should know at least some grappling if you are a striker or some strking if you are a grappler, you never know in which situation you will be stuck on the street
  12. I think you should just face him if he comes running at you, use your legs like doing a front kick or a side kick, as they will be running they will be hit by twice the power of your kick. as for the headbutt, it wont hurt you if you know which part of your head to use, never ! use your forehead cause it will hurt as hell, but if you do it right then you will get a good result, the nose is very weak and breaks easily and he will panic with the blood, but you need a good timing to hit someone with a headbutt and be very close
  13. hey ive already been practising Goju ryu for some time now, i had practised shotokan for 7 years but it didnt worked for me, could someone tell me how much time do i need to get my black belt if i have already been practising other style, does it matter? does it help me advancing faster?
  14. hey! i practice goju ryu JUNDOKAN, ive also practiced shotokan but it wasnt for me unfortunately is realised after 7 years!
  15. I've studied both, im actually stil studying goju ryu, i believe it is more alike to my style of fighting, shotokan is a lot of sticking to the ground to say it in a way while goju ryu is quicker and is a little more light on the feet. But its your decision, the best you can do is check both classes and then decide but it depends on which one makes you more comfortable, they are both great
  16. hi, i think you should avoid kicking their * so that they dont come to look for you like that guy did and kick yours. i think you should do a grappling MA like aikido or BJJ as they are very effective and you can take them out that way
