  3. i agree,but what i'm saying in the latter part is i feel more confident in myself in my opinion... it comes down to the indervidiual i suppose.Please take note i'm not putting boxing down i used to enjoy doing it,and i still love watching it..it is a tough sport.

  7. At our class there are a few adults in there late 50's. Our head sensei is in his sixties ,and i agree they are very fit for there age.better than some in there twentys..
  8. this debate is getting quite intresting.You have to remember karate has suprise,sneeky moves,for example apponant sees you going high but your really going low.false moves like faking a punch so you can sweep apponant.i'm not excusing boxing as a tough sport, i myself boxed for a number of years,but i think i'm more confident on the street knowing the defence and counter i know from what i study now.

  11. surely if fighting a boxer.any karate-ka could sweep his legs,smash his knee/groin/ankle etc etc the boxer would be knackerd as he is only trained in stance fighting,not grappling ground work etc...

  14. anyone know when the next shukokai or open karate tournements are? and do you still agree wth the governd body sku/wsku,as i know clubs now not in due to costs etc.

  19. Hi, try watching fist of fury the bruce lee film.there is a good nunchacku scene in it,but you have to watch iy in slow motion.You then could copy the basic moves.you have to get the uncut version of the film though. hope it helps. regards

  23. I got into an arguement the other day where my friend likes watching boxing,and his comment was if the two karate & boxing met , boxing would win.I begger to disagree with him,as boxing has to many rules . Am i right or wrong,am i biased because i study i]karate[/i] . what's your view ?
  24. it is the first two knuckles in my style to condition them we do press-ups on the two knuckles during warm up.
  25. in my opinion tkd looses hands down to karate , as tkd is a lot of areial work which is no good on the streets but looks good on camera. As for karate which focus a lot of power / full contact / etc. ( 1 strike 1 kill )
