  2. I don't know if you can use the parts argument. You can buy parts to make many different bombs but those things are not illegal! But still it seems silly to ban nun chucks when you can buy guns and other weapons
  3. Two man enter, one man leave!
  4. Thats fine, there is also an up and comer in England called Zelg Galesic he does TKD as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce30XajgqiI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce30XajgqiI He is the current Cage Rage middleweight champion I believe. He won it off Mark Weir another TKD fighter who also fought in a UFC (not sure which one)
  5. There are a couple I think, correct me if I am wrong but I think that these guys do: Stephen Bonnar (not that hes doing very well at the moment!) David Louisea (not sure how to spell the last name, although I think he no longer has a contract with the UFC) Im fairly sure GSP has done TKD in the past
  6. I know that one, I have a really heavy clutch and boy do I feel it good sometimes after training

  9. What does everyone reckon the best gym cardio machine is for MA, if you could only choose one?
  10. I wouldnt write Judo off just because you are small, im only 170cm (5'6") and I find it quite effective. Helps to get below others centre of gravity
  11. Yeh I would have thought for a black belt grading it would be at least a couple of hours
  12. I forgot to mention that yes we do need to know all the taeguk forms as well, used to be you had to know palgwae 1+2 as well but thats been phased out now, its a pity as a few of the palgwaes are quite good
  13. Should hopefully be going for my 1st Dan WTF TKD at the end of the year so if that happens that would make me 23

  15. In my organisation we have to do Koryo for first to second dan, Keumgang for second to third, Taebaek for third to fourth, Pyongwon for fourth to fifth, Sipjin and Jitae for fifth to sixth, Cheonkwon for sixth to seventh, Hansoo for seventh to eighth and Ilyo for eighth to ninth. I havent had to learn any of these yet though! Just what i found out from a website
  16. Is that not his name? Does it mean something special?
  17. I pay $70 a term(4 terms per year) + $75 rego per year for judo and $30 a month + $25 rego per year for TKD Judo is twice a week for an hour and TKD is twice a week for 1 hour and 15 mins ps. those amounts are in $NZ

  20. There certainly is a difference. If you ask people where they would go to learn self defence, the majority would say "a martial arts school, obviously". Rarely would a person even think about going to a conflict managment course and learning how to run. When martial artists talk about self defence, intentionally or not they often only refer to the physical part of self defence. This is the same thing you will experience in most martial arts classes. When schools have there "self defence sessions" to practice "self defence techniques", the majority of the time they are learning how to escape wrist and lapel grabs against a complient "opponent". The person walks up and without any aggression or conversation, grab your wrist and stand there waiting for you to perform an overcomplicated escape for a situation that is far from reality. The pre and post fight parts are often only mentioned for a few moments, time is not spend practicing the skills required to deal with these parts. Self defence training involves practicing and learning about conflict de-escalation, signs of aggression, pre fight posturing, pre emptive strikes, legal implications, dealing with police interviews, your rights in terms of defending yourself, dealing with post traumatic stress, the possibility of revenge attacks etc. If your martial arts training doesnt include this then you are really only looking at a very small part of the self defence puzzle. Good post, never thought about it like that
  21. Yeh I hadn't seen it. I have to download them to see them here in NZ so takes a couple of days before I can see them. Maybe just announce that there are spoilers coming up so I can close the window or look away!
  22. aaagh! please post this kind of stuff in a new topic and mark spoiler! I havent seen this yet
  23. Hmmm thats what I thought from reading on the net that it may be that plantar thing. The only reason I thought it wasnt is that it seems to have nothing to do with morning standing or anything, only after I have kicked something
  24. Ive got a problem at the moment where everytime I kick a pad or anything the arch of my foot really hurts, its really impacting on my training, does anyone know what this might be?
