Good article in some schools it can be hard to maintain your christian values when faced with Buddhist and shinto philoshophy,but at the same time in order to understand what your learning it can be important/helpful to have an understanding of these philosiphies/cultures to better interpet the movement of kata ect

My instructor allows belt from other style unless the person wants to join the school then they are reconized at an appropriate rank. This differs for black belts who he allows to keep their bb mostly out of respect, that and he relizes that as master jules says a belt is for holding up your pants.
