I havent done physics for a long time so i wont go into purely theoretical concepts, but I'll provide similar examples in totally different activities. Ever opened a bottle of wine with a corkscrew? the twist motion helps the corkscrew go further in the cork. Ever played pool (billiard)? Many professional players perform breaks at the begining twisting the queue at the end of their motion when they are about to touch the cue ball. It gives you extra strength. Again, those are just examples that illustrate the principle at the origin of the hip motion for a front kick. Ask him to try it by himself, a kick with and without the motion.

i can do two finger push ups. one underrated benefit is that is that it strenthens your will. you do them more with your mind than your body.

while sparring with the instructor: by the way, i got your daughter pregnant -
when it becomes a lecture im thinking "i wonder what sensei would do if i just kick him", "wow that girl is hot, ima spar with her", "i would have been a black belt by now without all this talking"...and on and on...
-
would you think it might be because you are intimidated by their ranks? like, do you have a different mindset when you are to fight a higher belt?
-
wow, i cant believe so many people think its fake. i still think it is not edited. Would you then believe somebody can move that fast?

trainning for glory and trophies is never a bad idea. i train for personal growth, mentally, physically, you could try that. As for the girl, though one, ive been in that situation. If its strong it will survive, if its not then you'll remain friends. -

it is called static streching i believe. you probably not like my answer, but to be good at it, just do it more often (mornings and evenings) and the best you can. with perseverance you will improve. And also dont limit yourself to static streching. Do active and passive as well (google it).

look at the guy doing at the kata and the trees behind. if it was edited the trees would have been moving fast too. either that or they used state-of-the-art technology.

Like Kicks' signature, "i dont lift weights, them things are too heavy." lol. I didnt have a gym around where I grew up, so using my body is the only thing I do (when I do something). Im used to it and since my goals have not changed since, I dont change anything. Push ups, sit ups are the real deal for me. I have the chance to have fairly good genes, but I will certainly move to weightlifting either if my goals change or if i feel like sustaining my strength and speed as I grow older.

i didnt dress up i was too lazy anyway lol.

How does one disagree with upper rank?
Bleeding Lion replied to IcemanSK's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I dont agree with that. My sensei and his assistant are always happy when someone has a question like any instructor in general. They are happy to explain further because your question shows you are interested and not just doing some brainless absorption of knowledge. Think about it, if you disagree, that means you probably did not understand something, so a question will clean this up. And usually i find that having a technique demonstrated on you gives you a much better understanding of it especially if it hurts a little (unless of course, if your sensei is a maniac who should not be teaching in the first place and breaks a bone). -
when i started doing push ups, 5 was a lot for me. So all i did was to do push ups every day, trying to do more the following day. I tried to do increments of 5. I worked my way up to 110. it went like 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, 75, 80, 90, 100. If you commit to it you can. It took me 2-3 months, one month to get to 50. Everyone starts somewhere, i started with barely five, now im doing 2 finger push ups!!! Commit to it, you'll be amazed by the results.

if by well rounded you mean having a decent understanding of essential aspect of fighting (grappling, ground fighting, striking...) then i would choose it over expertise. Why? because i never liked the idea of specialization which in my mind is being narrow-minded. btw, thats my excuse for not getting a phD lol.

How does one disagree with upper rank?
Bleeding Lion replied to IcemanSK's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
if something feels wrong to me, i will disagree regardless of the rank. there was this shodan at my dojo leading practice when sensei was not around, we had some new students, and he was telling them how goju ryu is ranked as #2 deadliest art in the world after "shaolin". I respectfully asked his source and he gave me the "internet" answer, then I told him and especially the new student i didnt believe in a rank of arts, otherwise everybody would be studying only one art.
