I suggest you to try both and then find your personal answer, there are difference between the two styles and you may like more one or the other but what really make the difference is the quality of the teaching
I had 1. Kendo (no real interest in it) 2. Aikido ( ditto for Kendo) 3 Shotokan (This is ok but I prefer my style) 4. Tai chi chuan (This I do) 5 Wing Tsun (This is nice but I'm doing two MA already!)
Very little. 7 months. But I had the chance to appreciate a lot of aspects. P.S. Goombah is spelled in italian Compa' which is a short form for compare (literally means godfather but it is also generally used as: friend expecially from southern italians), while paisa' or pisan as you wrote, means coming from the same town or region or even country. So I don't mind be called like that.
I agree with you totally, as a yellow belt I always try to show the maximum respect to higher grades but I would rather be annoyed if someone for the lack of my technique or the lack of my fitness status (I'm not loger in my prime) did not show the same respect to me no matter their rank.
Yes I totally agree with that, switching from kickboxing to karate I was expected to learn some grappling too but surely Okinawan goju has exceeded my expectations it is really a complete system.
Thanks MJ I knew that Shorei was somehow a variant of Goju ryu but I did not know there were many other subdivions. Yes I didn't know that, I just put main styles only for Goju I put explicitly a variant because here in Italy the name Shorei kan is quite popular.
I'm not a girl, but in my kung fu school (teaches Tai Chi Chuan, Northern Shaolin and San da) there are lots of women practicing Tai Chi Chuan and Northern Shaolin kung fu, while I don't know of anybody practing San da.
It looks like a complete crap. I don't believe in learning things out of a regular class then if you think you can buy let's say 10 MA DVDs for about 300$ and a Black Belt for 5$ you have an idea also of the actual value of the things you are buying.
Hi, no I'm yellow belt (our ranking system goes white, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, black). For my yellow belt exam I had to learn (aside from basic bloks punches and kicks) Taikioku jodan, chudan and gedan. Bye
Yes I agree too. After he stopped to act verbally and started to hit you, the best thing to do is using self defence skill with the due moderation, if he was already down after the first kick you have done better not to hit him again with stomp kick.
