  7. Welcome to the forum.
  8. I enjoyed Weaveworld. I have to say though I much prefer the books to the movies.

  10. I missed three of them too!
  11. Welcome to the forum. And good luck on your search for a new school.
  12. I think that it is approximately only 10 % of those who begin training actually hang in long enough to get a black belt.
  13. Actually I have not seen any ebooks about karate related topics.
  14. I am glad someone else said that.
  15. I think among the people I have seen fail gradings the only ones who have quit because they failed would have quit anyway. And those who fail and keep trying are those who have the most desire.
  16. Don't you just love the heft of one of their canes? The neck sized crook is pretty cool too. And not to mention the fiendish point on the end of the crook.

  19. http://www.isshinryu.com/kata.htm Try this site for katas.
  20. If you are in a school where sparring is required or want to do mor tournament activities you should see about getting sport goggles.
  21. Sometimes the first and second pinan katas are reversed as heians. Depending on the style cat stances may be replaced by kokutsu dachis. It all comes down to which styles you are speaking of moreso than just pinan/heians in general.
  22. The total count on the memory stick is 127 books. Actually there are allready libraries who offer ebooks. Some even have loaner reading devices. To borrow an ebook it is loaded into your device and after a certain amount of time they just disappear. The Baen Free library is one example.
  23. Rohai is pretty cool.
  24. Coming up as a kyu grade I always loved it everytime I learned a new kata. I just couldn't learn enough katas. Now I find at times when sensei thinks it is time for me to start work on a new kata I don't fell I am ready too. And I find that I keep going back to some of the earlier katas to do more work on them. I have a totally different perspective of most of the earlier katas than I did when I first learned them.
  25. That is a very good observation and a very valid point. I think I would have to agree with you that as people first begin to spar that is how it is.
