  4. Time and lots and lots of training.
  5. I do have to admit that these days after a haircut there are definately gray strands visable in the pile. Funny how I see more of them in the pile than on my head. I was in Korea during my initial exposure.
  6. I am going to move this to the weapons area.

  9. Over 40 and can do full side splits and lean forward and put my chin on the floor. Not bad for an old fart that has had MS for 25 years.

  11. The Harry Potter books have spurred a lof of kids into reading which is a very good thing. And they are entertaining reads. I will read the next books when they come out.
  12. Just a friendly reminder to everyone to please be civil. And to watch your language. And if you disagree with someone find a respectful way to say it and better yet an understanable explanation of why you disagree.

  16. You develope your body to start with. Then as your train and push yourself you develope your mind in terms of learning to interpret what your body is telling you. And in a traditional art you learn respect. Also those who train seriously make an effort to take care of themselves physically in terms of what they eat and rounding out a good workout program. And most also go on to find there is a mental compoment they develope for themselves. A lot of that aspect is different for every one who trains.
  17. Welcome to the forum.
  18. Tomorrow I get to practice my Grand Master rating in the art of lasagna eating.
  19. One way to learn timing is to do the kata at a slow speed concentrating on form. Then do it at a fast speed thinking application. After you do this enough you will begin to develope your own sense of timing. Timing is something that cannot be taught. I think it is something that everyone has to learn for themself and varies from person to person. Breaking katas down into segments helps too. Timeing and flow is just something that comes with lots and lots of reptititions.
  20. It is a state of mind for me. When I start getting tired but get so wrapped up in my training I go and go until I wind up in a heap in the floor.
