  1. Shureido is the best uniform I have ever worn. I have a Tokaido, and not real impressed for the price. I really like the Century heavyweight uniforms. They are inexpensive, and give that 'snap' you look for in a heavyweight. I hope that helps.
  2. Our association is $300 for 3rd Dan. I have a buddy in another association who says his 5th Dan test is about $2500!! Varies so much from association to association.
  3. Why don't you just teach your neice?
  4. I wish it was as easy as googling it. That was my first move. After looking at them closer they may not be blue, but a black stone washed, and the lights make it look blue.
  5. The magazine was Martial Arts Professional. I have no idea about the maker. The article was about a school in Largo Florida, so it wasn't an ad or anything like that.
  6. Hello all! I saw a picture in a magazine of a person wearing a blue stone washed traditional uniform. The article wasn't about the uniform, so it didn't mention anything about the maker, etc. I emailed the guy in the story, but yet to hear back. Have any of you seen this style uniform anywhere? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  7. I have a buddy that has a ninjitsu school near Philly. If interested let me know and I will get you the information.
  8. FRENCH FRIES! The devil made them!!
  9. I totally believe you...I meant you look 25 as a compliment.
  10. Thanks for the update. My school was once a member school of the CTF. I know Master Hardin, and possibly your instructor. Master Hardin is a great man! Best of luck to you!! Keep us updated.
  11. Once per week is better than nothing at all. If that is all you can attend I would say go for it, and practice a lot at home.
  12. I use Yoo-Sin.
  13. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. But when I do...ROCK-N-ROLL!!!
  14. What are you doing in the 40-49 year old division??? You look like you are 25! I think you are talented with both, but I enjoyed the bo staff the best. Best of luck to you!
  15. I had a student test for black belt who has asthma. I let him put his inhaler on the testing table, and let him know if he needed it he could stop at any time to use it. Sure enough at one point of the testing his asthma kicked in and he had to use his inhaler and get his breath back. You can do it. Make sure your doctor okays the physical activity first, and train to complete the test. Please let us know of your progress! GOOD LUCK!
  16. I think your problem is totally understandable. Old habits are hard to break, and you have been doing the kicks a certain way for a long time in another style. Though the styles are similar there are lots of differences. Would you be against starting at a white belt in TKD? You said you felt bad because you had on a black belt and a green belt was kicking better. Your rank is in karate not TKD. If you started at white belt maybe you wouldn't feel the pressure of having to do the kicks at a black belt level. Just a thought...please keep us informed. GOOD LUCK!!
  17. As a TKD school owner I would say RUN! Hopefully they don't have you tied to a contract. Best of luck and let us know how things turn out.
  18. What is the object of the person in the center? To avoid being hit?
  19. Is this company located in Valdosta?
  20. Awesome! Good luck with your testing!
  21. I thought Dean stopped the Ortiz/Shamrock a bit fast, but maybe it was because I had $40 invested.
  22. I wouldn't worry so much about height as I would good technique. Make sure you are getting a good chamber and re-chamber on the kick. Height will come, but don't sacrifice the technique.
