Martial Arts in the WWE
Warp Spider replied to Black Dragon's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Actually about half of those times the wrestlers won. But still, those were all crappy wrestlers. I'd wager Brock Lesnar, "The Big Show" (Paul Wight), John Cema, "Kane", and likely some others would really clean up in MMA, but considering how much they make as WWE Superstars it's not really worth their time. -
It's worth mentioning that some people have slightly different anatomy that makes that technique ineffective. Or so I've heard. Plus I'm pretty sure I have that too, on account of the RNC just makes my voice go all funny and eventually starts to suffocate me.

I think you meant that last part the other way around. But still. WWE is entertaining, as long as you don't take it too seriously.

How to deal with the kids class troublemaker?
Warp Spider replied to OrenJuMok's topic in Instructors and School Owners
You could isolate him from the other children with an electric fence. Or caltrops. -
People who complain about favourtism are obviously not interested in the annihilation of the enemies of mankind. Who cares what they say?
-
Because that's not something I think that a man should do.

What to do about mean teachers in HS
Warp Spider replied to wrestlingkaratechamp's topic in General Chat
You could do that, but what difference would it make? Like in the example provided above about high school vs. elementary school kids, the administration really won't give a rat's * that the students don't like the teacher. Unless he attacks or molests a student they don't really give a crap. -
I don't think its a Martial Arts weapon, but...
Warp Spider replied to Immolation's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
Well, seeing as how saps and blackjacks were designed to knock people out without causing them serious harm (by striking them in the back of the head) I'm not sure that they are that deadly. -
I think Shortstick might be of the opinion that if things don't work out, then suddenly everyone's going to hate everyone else. In my experience, that only happens among teenagers though.

I do!

If someone were to break into your house.........

Heh, similarly a friend of mine has a law where he lives that states you are allowed to shoot at people chasing you on horseback, but only if you are riding in a covered wagon. -
Final Fantasy 7. Materia are these thingies that you can put in some equipment to cast spells and junk.

Yeah, but that's scripted. I'm going simply on the fact that the guy has demonstrated the ability to hurl 300 pound men with relative ease.
-
I say to that - size matters. My favorite example of this is Paul Wight. 7'4", 500 pounds, can hurl a 300 pound man with one hand, or two 200+ pound men simultaneously, one in each hand. I would seriously question the ability of someone who is 200 pounds to take on a man like that. Even I, megalomaniacal as I may be, would think twice about picking a fight with someone that large.
-
If your assuming you fighting someone who is not larger than you and/or someone who can not take punishment and has no fight experince alot of fight may end quickly but dont always expect to face someone who will drop the first tiem you hit them. I see some fights end in a few seconds and i see other go on for several minutes..depends on who is fighintg. I think he was referring to the fact that most times and attacker will only throw a few swings before losing interest.

I'd rather die with a sword in my hand than with one in my back.
-
Well, that is more or less true. The RNC is nearly impossible to get out of. There's a technique that a friend of mine (who trains in BJJ) taught me that was for an unskilled choke from behind, but I haven't had the opportunity to test it against a RNC. It's worth noting, however, that some people have a slightly different anatomy in their neck that makes strangulation attacks relatively ineffective. I've heard that it is relatively rare though.

I think he specified guns weren't a possibility in this example though. I assume by that you mean only melee-type weapons, so in that instance I'd have to go with.. well, if I'm allowed ANY weapon in the house I'd go with a combat knife or possibly a chainsaw. However, if I'm limited to stuff in my bedroom, I'd hide and try to sap the person with the butt of my PSG, or if guns aren't allowed at all (including butts) then I'd do the same thing with my toolbox. -

Don't listen to that! Doo eet! You know you want to!! -
I used to program in QBasic... when I was 10. I made mostly games and stuff. If you're serious about programming though, I'd try C++ or Java, they are much cooler. (in my opinion)

Advanced Ki user anwsering question.

Well, I think those are two words for the same thing. I consider levitation and flying to be the same. -
Grappling arts vs Striking Arts
Warp Spider replied to lilolpete's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
Nothing is protecting my neck from being choked, except of course the attack itself. As they say, "the best defense is a strong offense." Also I don't have much of a problem with being caught in an armbar. It happens sometimes admittedly, but generally it's not an issue for me. Well we could play keyboard sparring all day, every move and every counter can be countered by something else, so there's really no point in saying "how do you avoid your move from being countered." One of the people I spar with trains in BJJ and Aikido. It works pretty good. -
Hmm, I could have sworn I posted in here already. Anyways, when comparing Bruce Lee to UFC competitors, please consider his weight class. Considering the power that he could generate out of such a very small and light body, I think he would have a great advantage over the other competitors in his weight class.

Are you cop or do you live in the hood or something? I think carrying weapons is a smart thing to do. You don't have to be a cop or live in a dangerous neighborhood to be attacked.
