  1. i have a better idea- dont do deadlifts or goodmornings at all. i promise youll be sorry sooner or later. @%# mens health and all those people, they are BAD FOR YOU!!! you want legs? legpresses! more weight hoisted on that than any other leg exercise, probably any other exercise period. but dont jump in too quick to lifting, and be mindful of your knees (i always wear knee wraps). leg curls for your hamstrings, and running (not on a tredmill), is what builds legs the smart way. squats too, but legpress is better. (cant wait to catch the grief over all of what i just said- but trust me its all true)

  2. people call it the ultimate style (for standup/striking anyway) because it is so very brutal and so very effective and practical. in general (thats my disclaimer) MT guys can most likely kick the other guys' *, and theres no two ways about it. one cant find harder hitting blows than in muay thai (proper spelling by the way), and as good as a fancy kung fu guy may be, the simple buff-* powerful thai boxer can probably demolish him

  3. im gonna throw in a little advice here- wear knee wraps when doing heavy pressing leg movements, especially squats. the help is tremendous. if you feel anything, that is anything at all in your knees, stop immediately. also, dont do too much too fast. but anyway, yea- knee wraps.

  4. holy holy crap, thats a lot of weight for that height. honestly, a specialist trainer richard simmons type would be a good idea... help you cut the calories and all; but if they put you on all protein atkins bull * fire them. and please, please- start jogging. a lot. and bike riding. and tae bo. and whatever else is cardio for you. dont mean to criticize or anything, dont get me wrong- but that kind of weight is unhealty... gotta lose it.

    as for the rest- barbell curls do not restrict the motion at all (assuming youre standing), and with PROPER FORM you will not only lift more total weight than with dumbells (thus causing your muscles to grow bigger, faster) it will not allow the stronger muscle to compensate for the weaker one... WITH PROPER FORM. sure dumbells have all sorts of benifits, but if you want the size, barbells are the way to go.

  6. no no no... you want to gain size, get a barbell, do 4-5 sets of 6-8 reps, as heavy as you can go WITHOUT losing good form. barbells get size, dont let people tell you otherwise. 6-8 reps is optimum for getting size, dont let people tell you otherwise.

  7. youre old enough to not worry about stunting your growth. if your bones are hurting, it could be one of several things. if youve just started, your bones could simply not be used to it- similar to getting shinsplints. there could be other problems a doctor would have to tell you about, but i bet its that. for now id do less sets and see if that helps, if not drop the weight a little and just do it untill your bones are ready. as for the weight, 55lbs is not a whole lot to curl, though its not bad at your weight. far as wolverine goes, if youre 190lbs and muscular, 35lbs is a warmup weight to be curling, at the same size and build (i guess) i go from 80-100 and im not THAT buff (yet..). are you talking about dumbells in each hand at 35lbs a piece, or a barbell of 35lbs?
