  1. I know its cliched as heck but for a little while now it has been a way of life. I honestly cant imagine not training nor can I remember what it was like before I trained (possibly not want too..). When the "proverbial" builds up, training is a release for me. As its becoming more a way of life, I want more from my training, so I am looking for better instruction/club. Perhaps most importantly though its damn good FUN!
  2. To block the strike from making contact use your palm. I often slap down an opponents guard and come in with a fast backfist, using the palm is the best method of defense ive come accross yet. If they are aiming for the, left side of your head then use your right hand to block.
  3. Well if you don't know, im not going to tell you. Its something you shoud figure out for yourself.

  6. I guess SAT's are somewhat equivilent to A-Levels? Don't even get me started on mine, they were either: Computing C Business Studies B History C OR Computing C Business Studies B History A!!! I had mega arguements with the exam board, basically my teacher told me to expect an A for my history coursework, it came back a U (menaing ungraded, my name on the paper would get a friggin U). The exam board flat refuse to remark history coursework. The difference between the marks would have been enough to boost my overall history score from a C to an A. Ah well, one gap year later im not so bothered. Ill give uni a bash see what its like. If I like it I like, if I don't, I now know there is a hell of a lot more to life. Nearly time to go, looking forward to having some fun. Mainly based around alcohol and holding hands with girls.
  7. "even the GKR guys are at it.." Who could you possibly be talking about. Not ME surely..???

  9. Now now terry, don't let those claws show too much.
  10. Are you a rotheram lass then Aefibird? Is that where you train? Im going to uni in Leeds and was recomended that class to train in, however I hear that Dave Turton isn't actually teaching at the moment due to illness but one of his students has a class in Leeds itself that may be worth my while.
  11. 40,000+ throught the world... God knows how many instructors. Most of them are below standard though. Me thinks me will be changing style soon.
  12. hahahaha lol. I found that rather amusing. I may have a slightly warped sense of humour..
  13. Haha cool. Its set in the stars Fenris.. were meant for each other Was he older than you by 1yr and a half, cos if he was that'd be weird cos she's nearly 21. Update, she's still sending me slightly flirty messages and were (everyone I met in Africa) are having a reunion in August.. so we'll have to see whats gonna happen. I do still want her, just may not be a brilliant idea. Ah well..

  16. Yeah I could lose maybe 2 pound to be back in shape. Shape doesn't matter all that much though, skill matters more
  17. LOL, they're the height of fashion these days. I've seen my instructor buying pasties in a bakers. In his Gi. He is a bit mental though.
  18. Tao of Jeet kune do. Not great. The Bubishi. Hard going. (Patrick McCarthy trans) Dead or alive: your choice (Geoff Thompson) very good book, recomend it to anyone.
  19. Just finished a couple books on Boudica. Good. Read a book telling the story of troy. OK. Read "Why men lie and women cry" very funny and insightful book, took me six weeks to post it back to its rightfull owner, sorry luv!
  20. When she round yours just wap it out onto the table and ask her if she likes the look of it. What girl coudn't be impressed with that? All the different colours of the rainbow, a lovely belt.
  21. Cool, you should stop off in Soho in London first though. Southerners (in the UK) are softies so you could get used to the lifestyle down there first. Soho is renowned for being a good place to pick up girls....

  24. Well im rather proud to say im manged to blag a test drive in a porsche boxter at the grand age of 19. Amazing what a decent suit lots of aftershave and a confident personality can do for you! That car is fast as... I think I scared the guy who went with me, im a no-nonesense driver hehe.. He looked devestated when I said I wasn't going to buy it. May go back and try to blag a test drive in a ferrari of some form..
  25. Yes I believe in true love. However all love seems like true love at the time. My definition of true love would be 2 people who fall in love and stay that way for life. A few months ago I went to south africa. about a month into my trip (2 month long in total) a new girl arrived. Three days later we had both moved into "the dark room" it being the only vacated room at the time. It really was very intense and we do love each other, but we just split up a few days ago. Still love her to bits and she me, but as friends. We are so alike its weird, I think thats were the bond came from, it just happened we also found each other physically attractive.. and thats were the physical side of the relationship came in. I think we both confused the "click" for romantic love instead of the friendly love and physicall attraction combination that it really was. I think if we had kept it physical we would have ended up in trouble and the friendship might have ended. Am I dissappointed its over? Yes. Is it better this way in the long run? Yes. Will we stay friends? Yes, for life. We both know we will, no question about it. I think at some point we will end up together again but not for long because we would burn each other out. Ah the complex life of a 19yr old..
