  1. Happy Birthday to Danielle! Thank you for all of the amazing contributions that you have made here. Patrick
  2. Thank you for the submission, Brian. Today marks 8 years that Brian has been a member of our staff here at KarateForums.com, so I thought we'd publish an article written by him. Thanks again, Brian! Patrick
  3. Hey all, I have seen Ronda Rousey discussed a lot here, much of it negative. As part of their Nine for IX Shorts series, ESPN Films just released "Rowdy Ronda Rousey," a 14 minute clip that talks about Rousey's background, her family pedigree in the arts, the reason behind her trash talking, her importance in bringing women to the UFC, etc. It features Rousey, her mom, Dana White and others. I am not a UFC or MMA fan (nothing really against it, just not my thing), but I was intrigued by the clip, and I think it is a good watch (with an open mind): http://espn.go.com/espnw/w-in-action/nine-for-ix/shorts/rowdy-ronda-rousey Thoughts? 4. Thank you for starting this thread, Bill. I think we have a lot of threads about how to keep kids engaged, but not much on how to keep adults engaged. Patrick

  6. Hey Michelle! Welcome to our community. Thank you for sharing your story. Patrick
  7. Thank you for the submission, Bob. I'm sure that people will find it interesting to see within an organization like this. A note for anyone reading this: the article was originally submitted in January of 2012 but due to extreme delays on my part in publishing it (very sorry for that), it wasn't published until now. As such, a lot has changed since then and Bob will reply with an update. I appreciate your time and understanding. Thanks, Patrick
  8. Awesome! Congrats man. Patrick
  9. Thank you for the submission, Alex. The videos definitely add a lot to the article! Patrick
  10. Thank you for the submission, Danielle. Patrick
  11. Thank you for the submission, Heidi. Just so everyone knows, this article was submitted by Heidi years ago, but we are just publishing it now. So it should be viewed in that context. I apologize for the extreme delay in publishing it! Thanks, Patrick
  12. Awesome. Good luck, Noah! Patrick

  20. Welcome aboard, Baldor. Glad to have you. Patrick
  21. Thanks all. Brian and Nidan Melbourne, I guess the answer would be 2 (Brian and Greg), if it is people that I met here at KF before I met them elsewhere. I have met other members here, but they are friends of mine who I met other places first. So not nearly enough. Greg, haha. Yeah, sorry I missed that. Archimoto, that was the mantle at the restaurant where we had lunch, Maguire's Irish Pub. Patrick
  22. It has been so enjoyable so far. Some really great moments. The last one is on Monday! It should be expected that this thread would contain spoilers, but just in case, here's one big warning. SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT. Cheng is in so much trouble. Heh.
  23. Belated thanks Brian. Patrick
  24. Hey all, I recently had the pleasure of meeting gheinisch (Greg) in person. Greg has made 2,136 posts here (26th all-time), including many great contributions. He was also a staff member and a moderator (Sensei). If you'd like to know more about him, please check out the interview that we did during the 500,000 posts celebration. We had lunch and then Greg showed me around the area where he lives in Georgia, including Senoia (where The Walking Dead and numerous other films and TV shows have been shot) and Barbie Beach, a local legend (haha). Here's a photo (me in the red shirt, to your left and Greg in the blue): http://www.karateforums.com/img/photos/gheinisch-patrick.jpg It was really great to meet Greg. He's a great guy in person, just as he is online. Thanks again, Greg! Patrick
