Hello, We are just a few short weeks away from the nomination period for the KarateForums.com Awards 2003. If you don't know, this is our yearly awards event where you, the users of KarateForums.com, nominate and then vote for people to win awards in various categories. Last year, we had 5 categories: 1. Member of the Year 2. Staff Member of the Year 3. Funniest Member of the Year 4. Thread of the Year 5. Funniest Thread of the Year I also have decided to start a new category: Article of the Year. We will most likely look to use those same categories again, but it is possible that we want to add more. So, here is where you come in. Please make any suggestion that you may have, if it is for a category or even something else - I want to hear it. Thank you for your time.

However, remember... this thread is not/cannot be about picking a fighter. "I'd take Bruce," etc. That isn't enough. Like I said, comparisons of styles and strengths and weaknesses, that's what we want to see. Thanks.

You see, we love debates. There is no discussion without a difference of opinion. However, all that we try to ensure is that the debate stays productive. No personal attacks, no profanity... so on and so forth. We don't want a "Would Chuck Norris kill Bruce Lee or what?" type of thread, which is what the other one was becoming. "Chuck would beat him." etc. We don't want to see that. Comparing the differences between fighting styles and between arts... weaknesses and strengths... can be a very interesting discussion indeed.

Most of the upgrade is done. You may find a couple new things, but they are pretty small. One benefit of this will be the users who were having problems on AOL, those problems may stop. I do have to get the Photo Album and Styles section of the user profiles back online still. Thanks.

Thanks. I can find us a chat room. The problem is... it wouldn't be like the one we had, so it wouldn't attract people. If I find something that we can use and is what I want... I might be able to bring something back. I am going to pretend that I never heard about this tweety mask.

This user has come, gone and been gone for a long time. Let's stop bumping these introduction threads for no reason, please. Thank you.

Very soon (within the next couple of days), I will be upgrading our forum software. During this time and for some time after, there may very well be some problems and some features that stop working. In almost every case, this will be temporary. At some point, I will ask people to report problems to me, so please hold any problems that you find until that point. I really appreciate it. Will there be any new features? No, not really. I plan to keep pretty much everything we have now and then there will be a few small, new things that you may notice. Thank you.
