  1. Feel bad for Zach. He's a good guy.
  2. Hey Joe, Interesting topic, thanks for starting it. Yeah, I agree, that's cool. I find it neat to see marketing integrations like this. At the end of the day, it's not so much about who did it first as it's just a good idea. You can go even farther back than that to Michael Jackson reworking "Billie Jean" for Pepsi (and I'm sure someone probably did it before that!) In some cases, I bet it's for radio promo, too, where the artist will record the DJ's name in the song, etc. They record a bunch of DJs at once. They typically just do radio "drops," which are the artist introductions you hear where it's like "this is Miley Cyrus and you're listening to..." but this sort of thing is a little more interesting. 10. I like this poll because it illustrates that all ages are pretty evenly represented here. This makes for a nice mix.
  11. It's more of a test of watching TV and talking on the phone. Patrick

  13. Hello, KarateForums.com recognizes one member every month as the Member of the Month for their positive contributions to this community. The September 2009 selection is... isshinryu5toforever. Congratulations!
  14. I actually don't know about that test and it's applicability to actual driving. The object of driving isn't so much to count numbers as it is to be aware of your surroundings. I don't really count knowing what people are wearing and assigning them points based on their color as being aware - actually, I think it might be the opposite. If you spent all day counting people or focusing on what they were wearing and simply starring straight ahead, you'd miss what was going to to your left, right and behind you, which is just as important. 17. Great advice, everyone. WHEN?! Just kidding. Great tip, I really agree. The foundation of the community is the martial arts, but that doesn't mean we can't share other things in our lives or other interests that we have. Thanks, Patrick
  18. Welcome to KF, beagstkd! Happy to have you. We appreciate the kind words about the community! Patrick
  19. Good luck to your daughter, Brian. Patrick

  22. This is a very interesting topic, Dobbersky. Thank you for creating it. I agree with Bob, who had some good thoughts. This is natural and it happens to everyone. No matter what you're writing. If you're writing forum posts, articles, books, term papers, whatever... everyone hits a block. I would say to just do what you enjoy - if you enjoy reading posts, just read. Never feel like you have to post. If you see a post you like, maybe tell that person you like it and see if you have a relatable experience or something to share that relates to their already great post. But, it all flows naturally. We appreciate your contributions to the community. Patrick
  23. My signature is primarily dedicated to pointing people to various aspects of KarateForums.com. This includes links to our awards program, articles section, member of the month honorees and our guidelines. It's my hope that this helps more people to find these pages and to look at them, which will help them to derive greater enjoyment from the site (again, my hope )). The second line is a link to our contact page encouraging anyone to contact me if they have any question, site related issues, etc. Patrick
  24. That's unfortunate. If you don't manage your money, it'll go away. By all means enjoy it, but watch it. Some of the richest people in the world have lived in the most normal looking homes or driven basic cars for long stretches of their life.
