Interesting thread. Thanks for starting it, sensei8. Obviously not a martial artist here, but it would seem to me that throwing around a word like "best" when talking about martial artists does a disservice to great martial artists, including Mr. Lee. There is no best martial artist - the arts are far too varied for that. There aren't stats, rushing yards, touchdowns, home runs, three pointers, etc. Even the competitions are varied to the point where such a distinction would be impossible - and even if there isn't, most believe there is more to being a martial artist than just the competitive aspects of some arts. Because of this, there can never be a best. There can certainly be your favorite, or artists that impress you or maybe even the best in your opinion for your discipline or for a specific aspect of an art, practice or technique... but, the best period just isn't something that can narrowed down, I don't think. Just my thoughts. Thanks, Patrick

Happy Memorial Day. Thank you to everyone who has sacrificed to allow me the freedoms that I enjoy.

Welcome aboard. That's too blanket a statement to make. You have to think of an online community as a country (sort of). Everyone doesn't feel the same on any one issue. Here at KarateForums.com, all martial arts can be discussed (and disagreed upon) respectfully. Thanks, Patrick

KarateForums.com Turns 8 Years Old!
Patrick replied to Patrick's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
Thank you Ryan, Joe, Alex, Heidi, Brian and Danielle for the replies and kind words. They mean a lot. Patrick -
Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. On this day, eight years ago, KarateForums.com launched. It's funny to think about where time goes and how quickly it flies by. 8 years, 3,063 days, 422,691 posts, 34,596 topics and 10,717 registered members. As corny as it is to say... it feels like we just started yesterday! At any rate, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported and positively contributed to this community. It'd be impossible to name everyone - but, if you've contributed, if you've kindly helped someone or respectfully answered a question, please know that you are appreciated. I'd like to thank my staff, past and present, for their work in helping me to maintain the community and execute on the vision. Currently, this includes Heidi, Brian, Danielle, Ed, Alex, Rusty, Brenda, Jennifer and Dave. I'm proud to have all of you on the team. I hope that you will join me in recognizing this accomplishment and in continuing the tradition as we continue to grow and improve in our ninth year! Thank you for reading and, again, for your support. Sincerely, Patrick

Yeah, I don't really see a problem with it. BBB is about customer service more than anything. It's not the most important thing in the world, but you'd prefer people not complain to them about you, than the opposite, I presume.
