  1. Haha. Cool. My pleasure, Bob. Feel free to ask more questions (Bob or anyone). Thanks, Patrick
  2. Hey Bob, The quality of the footage and audio depends on your equipment (your computer, microphone and camera) and the strength of your internet connection. Some laptop cameras are nice, some are not. If you find that your built in camera is not good, you can always buy nicer one. They aren't too expensive. This is the one I use: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-720p-Webcam-Pro-9000/dp/B002M78ECK/ This one is nicer: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-1080p-Webcam-Pro-C910/dp/B003M2YT96/ With decent webcams and connections on all ends of the call, you can put it in full screen and expect decent quality video. Same for the sound. If the built in mic is bad, you can always buy a different one. If you have a decent high speed connection, you should be OK. I would guess (just a guess as I have no idea what it actually takes) that as long as you have an upload speed of .50 Mbps or more, you should be good. You can run a speed test here: http://www.speedtest.net (If you are on wireless, try having a connection directly wired from the router, it'll improve the quality and stability of the connection). For what it's worth, when I chatted with Jeff the other day, he put video on (I would have if I was ready, heh) and it looked great to me. Pretty sure he's using built in equipment. But, all built in equipment isn't the same, either. Varies in quality like everything else. Hope this helps. Thanks, Patrick
  3. Thanks Jeff and Brian. I appreciate it. Patrick
  4. No worries, Bob. The camera connected to your laptop should work fine. You could always start a thread in General Chat asking if anyone wants to share their Skype ID. Thanks, Patrick
  5. Thank you, Bob. That is very kind of you to say and it means a lot to me - makes my day. Thank you. Patrick
  6. My pleasure. Thanks Bob, for joining in and for the kind words, much appreciated. Patrick
  7. Hey Bob, I just wanted to mention that on the livestream, I actually called you on the phone. On my end, it was Skype, but on your end, it was just the phone. No worries. That said, doing something over Skype like this sounds like a great idea. You can even use video, as long as you have a camera attached to your computer. These guides might help: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/support/user-guides/ Thanks, Patrick
  8. No worries, Jay. Thanks for asking. I appreciate the interest. I find myself with so little spare time these days just because my work (which includes KarateForums.com ) is consuming me. Beyond running my network of sites, I also host a couple of podcasts, wrote a book and speak at conferences and events around the country on the topics of online community and social media and how to get the most out of them for yourself and your business. If I am not doing that, there is a fair chance I am doing something with my family - often watching a TV show, playing a game (or a video game) with one of my brothers. Beyond that, my personal interests... I love music (huge Diddy and Bad Boy Records fan) and that is a passion for me. I collect music and memorabilia tied to Diddy and Bad Boy. I'm a sports fan (Yankees and Dolphins) and like to mess around with sports when I can (usually golf these days) and also love investing, when I have the money to do it. I've been watching the stock market since I was 10 and have held stock since I was 11. Let me also tackle the questions Bob asked that we didn't get to on the show I am not sure. I don't think so... but, maybe we did. If not, we did early on. We have moved servers a few times, but never out of emergency. We have a web hosting partner - 100 Megs Web Hosting/iFroggy Hosting, that we have worked with for many, many years. I have a lot of ideas, but it's mainly finding the time to execute them. Running the network is a one man operation and it can be tough to balance that with everything else. KarateForums.com is the second longest running site in the network, following phpBBHacks.com. It was ... probably the 3rd, 4th or 5th site I launched with it's own domain name. Thanks again! Patrick
  9. Thanks Alex and everyone who came. That was an amazing time. I hope you all enjoyed it, as well! Patrick

  16. Awesome, Alex! Of course, anyone is welcome to ask me a question at any time via PM or through the contact form, but I figured it'd be fun to see what people would like to hear me talk about on the show. We'll tackle both of those! Thanks, Patrick
  17. Thanks for sharing that, Alex! Very well said! That is cool about you, Groinstrike and MasterPain! Patrick
