My Dad was pretty racist until my little brother married a Nigerian girl. He flipped out when they announced they were expecting, and now you can't get him to put down the baby.

UFC vs World's Strongest Man
1ONEfighting replied to Anzie's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
Former world's strongest man competitor and world amateur sumo champ Mark Robinson has ventured into the cage a few times. Once he made it into the UFC, he bullrushed Bobby Hoffman into the cage, and Hoffman summarily dropped him with a forearm to the side of the head. In the post-fight interview, Hoffman told Robinson to "go lift some more weights." -
What exactly is a reverse blade sword?
1ONEfighting replied to KaratekaAikidoist's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
Not sure, but I presume it may have something to do with a forward swept blade design, similar to a Khukri. -
Dual art dojang?
1ONEfighting replied to GreenDragon's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
My buddy's school teaches TKD, Judo and Hapkido out of one curriculum. Good, complete fighters. -
For those of you who didn't catch it last night, here comes the rundown. Hermes Franca defeats Rich Crunkilton via decision Both fighters showed a lot of heart, which did not make up for their collective lack of cardio. Crunkilton was caught in a deep kimura late in the fight, yet escaped at the cost of his shoulder. Duane BANG! Ludwig defeats Genki Sudo via decision Best fight of the night, hands down. It could really have gone either way, I would have been happy with a draw. Sudo is easily the most entertaining fighter out there. Wes "Cabbage" Correira defeats Sean Alvarez via TKO Cabbage showed great takedown defense and superior striking against an outweighed and one dimensional Alvarez. Rich Franklin defeats Evan Tanner via TKO This fight seemed to be stopped a little early, but had it gone longer, the result would have been the same. Pete Spratt defeats Robbie Lawler via verbal tapout Lawler was taking a lot of punishment to the legs, and called it quits when his hip popped out. Matt Hughes defeats Sean Sherk via decision Hughes showed why he is pound for pound the best fighter on Earth by defeating a game Sherk, whose style makes you think Hughes has a clone.

The Natural makes me weep. Also, much love for Best Of The Best 1, and to a lesser extent, 2.

Judo without Gi?
1ONEfighting replied to Venezolano's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
BJJ itself loses 70% of its techniques when you take away the gi, yet the techniques that are left work quite well. It is the same situation with Judo. -
My belts are all on display in my home. I train sans gi.

Royce Gracie at the street?

I'd rather pizz on a pitbull than pizz off Royce. -
Shoot Fighting

I should see if Muay Thai, Karate, or Judo is trademarked. It would be pretty cool to proclaim myself SUPEROMEGAULTRAGRANDMASTER!! -
I was wondering how many of you have actually had to use your skills in the street, and how each situation turned out. Did your training take over, or did you thrash like a first week white belt?

Gotta love those nunchaku. I guess I watched too many movies as a kid. I remember making my own when I was nine or ten, because Panthro used them on Thundercats. I used about a foot too much rope, and two extremely heavy railroad bolts. From then I made them from broomsticks, a section of dog leash, and two screws. These worked well, but the chain never lasted very long. I would get the foam variety every time a flea market came through in the 80's. By the time I took my first TKD class, I could work two easily with no lessons. TV. Gotta love it.

Let's get some stats here! 27 years old 6'2" 260 pounds. I'm a superheavyweight, step aside. What are the rest of you tipping the scales at?
-
That was cool. Don't let the Gracies see this.

Oh yeah, The Breakfast Club!
-
Maybe he called him Daniel San as a nickname, in reference to some movie from the 80's, I forget which one.

MOST LIKELY form of ATTACK...
1ONEfighting replied to ronpo's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
The push always seems to happen in my situation, as I am a bouncer in several clubs. It seems to be the middle ground when they are deciding whether or not to fight. After the push comes the haymaker or charge to tackle. -

Rules were added in order to appease the various state athletic commissions. If you think the actual outcomes of the fights are fixed, rewatch any of the Zuffa era UFCs, and tell me expressly which fights you feel had a predetermined outcome. Watch Robbie Lawler flatten Tiki Ghosen and tell me he pulls those punches. Watch any Matt Hughes fight. -
Your Most Confident Technique

Do you mean Zuffa and the Fertitta brothers? Gee, never heard of them. As for Cung Le, my post was TOTALLY in his favor, and your ignorance is getting worse by the day. Time to start breaking the pills in half, bud. Just because I stated that Cung Le couldn't beat Frank on the ground DOES NOT mean I don't know Cung Le is a badass. -

Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, soon to be Kuk Sool Won. -
I have an aztec sun on the right delt, moon on the left delt, tribal scorpion on the collarbone going up the side of my neck. I can't say the tattoos hurt in themselves so much, but holding my neck to the side for an hour and a half sucked.

True, I didn't mean to jump on you. I still love the older UFC's, where it was more style vs style. Now everyone is so much more versed in all the aspects of the game that most fighters are interchangable.
